What lets you know you're "home"?

I come the back way - Us 27 - US 192 - so my first sign that I am on WDW property - is the sign (at the traffic light in front of AKL) that only WDW employee can go straight - so we have to turn right - but hey 'I AM HOME'

then I see the signs and the archway.

LOL....that's more like a sign that you never left home! :p

Coming up the drive to the resort (only BWV and VWL so far), there is a great feeling of anticipation and the realization that once again, we've made it "home". Somehow, we never really feel like we're there just by driving on property.

For us it is coming over that big bridge that crosses the intercoastal highway and catching our first glimpse of Disney's Vero Beach. I get choked up just thinking about it! :Pinkbounc

It's gradual for me. It starts once we get settled in on the plane. When we pass under the WDW arches I feel great, but I'm still worrying about check-in, is our room ready, etc. When we walk into a DVC lobby, I'm thrilled by knowing that we're almost there.

I finally feel I'm home when I walk into our room & look around. All my worries are gone. I am home!

Then my kids and I jump up and down to celebrate while DW makes sure the bed works! ;)

The purple signs get me, too.

But nothing gives me the chills like seeing the MK Castle for the first time each trip :)

The "rush" inside me. A very good feeling.

Also the sound of cash registers going "ching-ching."

:hyper: We're here.:hyper:

For me it's walking in to check in to to which ever resort we're staying at. It's even standing in line to check in. It just makes me smile and sigh.

For me its a bit different:
Im ready to leave at 5PM after work.

i know im on vacation when my alarm rings the next morning :)

I know i can start relaxing when i feel the plane accelerate at takeoff (im a bit of a plane buff)

I know in Orlando when i grab my luggage and i walk though those sliding glass doors at MCO and get hit with the warm humid (or cool humid if its in the winter :smooth: ) air.

I know im nearing home when everything suddenly turns to a lovely shade of green as you get to the Disney owned property

But only one thing reminds me that im home:
When the security guard says "Welcome Home", and when the front desk CMs do the same thing.

Call me weird, Sure everything mentioned here reminds me im in WDW, but its those 2 words said by the security guard that really makes my vacation!

It's our first ride in Orlando - the tram at the airport! WDW is the only reason we ever go to Orlando. Although the mind will play tricks, it always sounds like the same voice on the monorail.

Well, my mind is playing tricks, too! It sounds like the same voice from the monorail to me, also! Oh....I can't wait until our trip!!!!!!!<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_30_105.gif' border=0></a>

Actually, I thought I read somewhere that it IS the same voice at the airport as on the WDW Monorail. If it's just my imagination, I'm going to be so disappointed-I thought it was somehow deliberate use of the same person.
