Fuji S5700 (S700)
Here's the story. I had an old 2mp Fuji 2650 from year 2000. We were in the market for a new camera back in 2007. My wife picked up a little Sony during Black Friday. It turned out to be a complete POS. Indoor pictures were completely useless, and even outdoor pictures in plenty of light were garbage. I took it back.
I told my wife the old saying, you get what you pay for. We discussed getting one of the little Canon Digital Elphs. While researching camera reviews, I ended up looking at more photography oriented sites rather than camera reviews. I started to get interested in that. So, when I took the Sony back, I picked up the Fuji S5700 which is a superzoom. As soon as I picked it up in my hand, I knew this was the route to go instead of a little compact. It has all controls just like a dSLR.
So, I get home from the store and she is waiting in the kitchen when I walk into the house. As I pull the Fuji out of the bag to show her, she pulls a box from behind her back to show me. While I was Ritz Camera buying the Fuji, she was at Staples buying the Canon Elph.
We kept the Fuji superzoom and I took back the Canon. I got into reading a lot about photography. I have far outgrown the camera and can't take the photos I want to take because of limitations such as sensor size and aperture settings. So, I really need a dSLR now, but they are just stinking expensive and I can't afford one right now, or for quite some time coming.
I loved the little Fuji, but can't stand it now because I've outgrown it.
