What is your typical wait time to get into your grocery store?

I haven’t gone grocery shopping since they started putting a limit on how many people can be inside at one time. I will go in the next day or two though so will find out then.

Our regional grocery chain has placed a 50% occupancy limit, but my location has not needed to do anything to enforce a limit. As a regular curbside pickup shopper for the past 1.5 years, I have been unable to secure a pickup time since the 1st week of March.

I live in a safe, moderate size suburban town with its own police force (a lot of bigger towns in my state depend on state police). We have yet to see a police vehicle sitting in the parking lot, either. Since they don’t ever have much to do, I have been surprised policemen haven’t been hanging around the grocery stores more. We do see police at Sheetz, but that is nothing new:)

Mine had 6. Then we were all let in. I pulled out my clorox wipe and the teenager pouted that they'd been cleaned.

I'm 7 months pregnant. I'm wiping it again.

I'm using gloves when I need a cart. I feel better when I take them off when I'm done.

I wrapped a towel around the handle and pushed with that. Similar to when I used a cart cover for my kid back in the day.

No wait for us, either. That's regular grocery stores and one time a Walmart.
My Costco is a good 45 minutes away and not a every week or month trip for me, so I haven't been since early March. Would like to go but - well, frankly, I don't NEED to go w/ just two of us, so I'll wait a bit till things chill out a bit.

No wait here. Just walk in anytime. I did hear a few stores were implementing one-way isles. But so far we mask up and head in. (I did see a few VERY pregnant young ladies without masks!!) lots of big families traveling in packs (6 or more!) no masks. What's with these people!!!!

A few weeks ( 4-5) back was last time we bought meat... early am and it was typical.
Since then I have bought Everything online, Walmart direct ship and home delivery, QVC ( chicken fried chicken... which is actually baked n yummy... and Awesome in an air fryer), Costco direct ship and Omaha Steaks.
My pantry is typically well stocked so no Needs there. Now Wants... like bread flour and yeast .. Ugh! Still trying for those.
I actually bought 5 different type bread loaves at Panera drive thru. Cut, wrapped n froze Yum!
I’m waiting on TP delivery 👍, it’s shopping at 2am that seems to get me most success
No stores at our home. Even cvs has drivethru and delivery!
Stay Healthy All!

I only have a wait if I choose to go at store opening time. Once I saw that happening, I stopped doing that. I am not convinced that, even at 6 feet apart, having many people in line (or in the case of Costco, hundreds) at the front door is smart. We know these virus particles become aerolized and can become extremely small and hang in the air, even outside. So, once the lines started happening, I changed my pattern. If I go to Costco at 2PM, there is NO line. Of course, there's no toilet paper, but everything else seems to be available.

In the UK they are limiting number of people in stores, so most have a queue outside. My usual store has a queue round the car park anytime of day so haven't used that. I used a different one and queued about 5 minutes. I'm fortunate as all stores have implimented NHS staff hours so I can utilise them and the store I use currently is offering 10% off shopping for all NHS workers for the next 3 months as a thank you for all our work, so another reason to shop there

There isn’t. I usually go Sunday morning.

I’m doing pick up this week. Most grocery stores are no longer charging extra for pickup.

No wait time at all.
Its business as usual as far as the amount of people coming in and out.
With that said I live in a pretty small city and we have a number of options when it comes to groceries... 2 legit grocery stores, an Aldi, 1 large market, 1 smaller market, and of course Walmart.
These places all have the 6ft marks on the floor, one way isles, temporary lines outside etc but I have not seem any of this actually need to be used.

Longest wait was about 10 minutes to get into Citarella's on Manhattan's Upper Westside. During various holidays there's often a line to enter later in the day so no one seemed put out by the waiting. The 6 ft distancing was different though. We shopped early for three same neighborhood stores so no waiting at all for the first one we got to minutes after opening.

I make all of my purchases online. We pickup curbside or have them delivered. I rarely shopped for groceries in person except for produce even before COVID.

I am going grocery shopping only once a week now. It’s hard with a big family and we eat a lot.

The last 2 weeks my wait time has been 1 hour to get in and another 45 minutes to pay due to strict distancing. Costco is so bad, someone made an app so you can check the wait time for the 2 Costco in our city. The average wait is 2+ hours.

What about your city?

So far, it's all been walk in. Can't get any pick up times anywhere, but no lines to get in, and the longest line I've waited in had 2 people in front of me. I've been in worse during the holidays.
