I'm looking for your #1 pick for a very special anniversary dinner. Which restaurant would you choose?

Just DH and I - no kids. I am a big seafood lover and DH will pretty much eat anything.

Thanks!

I voted for CG. The atmosphere is relaxed, the view is spectacular and they don't rush you if you have a dinner ressie and want to stay for wishes. To me a nice dinner with DH and no kids needs to be stretched out and enjoyed.

Happy Anniversary!

Cali Grill. Food, service, & view..all perfect!

CG gets great reviews and everybody mentions the view. But we've found it was a very noisy place and the service wasn't up to the prices they charge. We prefer YSH for a quieter place with great food and service.

I agree 100% and voted for YSH myself.

I think that CG tends to be a sentimental favorite because of the view. For romance though I'd prefer something more quiet and intimate and would give up the view to get the romance.

I picked Narcoossee's for a few reasons.

Excellent food.

Go out on the deck to watch/listen to Wishes (try not to block the view of those folks with window seats inside the restaurant).

Stop at the pool bar for an after-dinner drink, and stroll the white sand beach. You may catch the Water Parade.

Take the boat back to MK to pick up your resort bus.

Enjoy!

I did vote for California Grill. The service is great, hands down the best table service I have had in the resort. My husband I went for his birthday last year, and made it very special - down to us extending our meal so it became more of an 'experience' along with his b-day pin, and specialized dessert. So, out of sentiment alone (and Wishes) I picked CA Grill. Now, the other poster is right, it can be noisy, but I think if they sit you off to the right (which is the direction when you face the windows upon entering) you have a quieter option. For YS - I haven't been in a long time, but my parents recently went and said it was amazing, that the food was spectacular. So, I'd weigh those two options, and if WISHES is high on the list, you'll know which way to go.

I agree with splashmountainjaxson. We love CG as it feels like the ultimate pampering experience (short of V&A's) - it has a varied menu that wasn't as much the case when I went to YSH, and it's location at the top of the Contemporary really feels luxurious as you can look down on the MK.

Then again, we're adult sister that travel together, so we don't look for romance. :) However, having eaten at YSH, I can easily see why other see YSH as the prime choice for a quiet, intimate, subdued setting. Even the lighting is effective - it's soft, low lighting (not so low you can't see your food) but CG tends to be brighter with all the windows reflecting back the interior lights. It's also quieter and the wood floor and wall accents really give it a mature feeling. If you want romance, I'd recommend YSH. I think CG could easily be romantic as well if you get a time where you could view the fireworks.

I didn't officially vote as I think both are great options!

CA Grill is good, but it's been way loud the last few times I've been there. The other three are all great, but I picked Narcoossee's because you said you like seafood. It also has a great location by the water at the GF.

If you really like seafood why not try Flying Fish at the Boardwalk or Blue Zoo at the Dolphin?

I agree that the food is great at CA Grill, but the atmosphere is hardly quiet and romantic - it's actually very loud and crowded unless you eat dinner very early in the evening.

Narcoosee's is also quite good, but the seafood is better at Flying Fish, and probably at Blue Zoo, but I can't say that with any authority since we haven't eaten at Blue Zoo ... yet.

Never done the Steakhouse; find the others all very comparable. Voted for Narcoosee's because it's the more private, intimate setting. You cannot guarantee a window seat, but it is still a little darker, quieter; and you can go outside for the fireworks if you do not have a view. Citricos has limited views of the lake, more of an open floor plan, so louder and less intimate. Agree with other posters that CG is usually crowded, which makes it loud (not always romantic); hard to get a window seat, so you also go outside (to balcony). Also like the write-in vote for Jiko; adding one for Bistro de Paris, EPCOT. FWIW.

Loved Narcoossee's but I'll give Blue Zoo a slight edge. Blue Zoo's lobster was perfectly done!

Citricos would get my vote for a quiet, predomnately adult atmosphere, with fantastic food. California Grill would be my second choice, fantastic food but a much louder, busier restaurant.

Just to be different... Citricos. Great menu. Fabulous service. Relatively quiet. I would also recommend Narcoossees for the seafood, although I have not yet tried it.

Citrico's has it all; excellent food, great service, and beautiful surroundings.
