What is your fav WDW park and why?

Nope. Still don't get it. You fly half way around the world, pay a large amount of money to enter a theme park for three (half decent) rides and then spend the rest of the day strolling around. To me it's like staying next to Alton Towers and chosing to visit that or pay the same to walk around a couple of adjacent fields.
Each to their own!
Isn't that saying that WDW is only about rides? Surely there's so much more?

We like to walk around Epcot when it's dark and the hoards are staking their place for Illuminations. It's absolutely delightful then, especially between Germany and France, really rather romantic. Last year we did this ,several evenings, then nipped back to the BCV to watch the fireworks from the balcony.

For us, yes. There needs to be things to ride, see and do at a theme / amusement park and MK, MGM, AK, US, IOA, BG and the rest give us that. However, if I want a stroll around lakes and themed shops and cafes I'd goto a (free) shopping mall or park instead of paying $$$ to do the same kind of things at Epcot.

I know my views of Epcot are the equivalent of blasphemy but in my opinion, the admission fee for Epcot should be far less than the other parks as it's not worth it. The other parks are rides and attractions with shops and cafe's added in. Epcot seems to be the other way around. I fully appreciate why some may like the slow, relaxed pace of Epcot but it's not for everybody - especially those with children (and restless adults like me) that want to be kept entertained.

For the new or casual reader of these boards the impression they'd get is that Epcot is #1 in the theme park world as so many people rate it highly - which is fine. All I'm trying to point out is that not everyone thinks the same way.

I accept not everyone likes Epcot, and I'm not being personal here, but to say, as you did in an earlier post, that there's only 3 rides to speak of when there are the wonderful 360 degree films, the various shows, international displays etc - I think there's more to occupy one at Epcot, than at any of the other parks and as a bonus it actually educates rather than just entertains.

I do not dislike EPCOT, there are just other parks that we as a family enjoy more.
We do have a pleasant walk around it in the evening, the advantage being Josh always falls asleep  and we will spend at least one evening there next month. It is a park we find relaxing rather than exciting - that may change as to date I have not ridden Test Track/Mission Space or Soarin' ,which may well change my views....

I understand why people enjoy it and I also understand the appeal of World Showcase and the fact that there are restaurants etc there from around the world, not that I ever eat at any of them.
However, if I really wanted to sample the culture of France, I would visit Paris. I do not visit Florida to eat Japanese food or listen to the music of Morocco - but that's just my opinion, and obviously the majority disagree which is fine, we all have our preferences.

To be honest as far as the Disney parks go for us MK is miles ahead of the rest, because there is something there for everyone and I would never get bored of going there. Plus ANY park which makes Josh very happy always gets a big :thumbsup2 from us.....I probably prefer the water parks to AK/MGM/EPCOT all of which we tend to visit in the evening , usually on the same day we have been to MK in the morning (not wanting to waste a days ticket etc).

Plus as Universal AP holders we spend a lot of time there.

My views of theme parks are probably different to most people, it is difficult to explain life with a lovely young boy who unfortunatley is unable to talk so our experiences are purely based on seeing him enjoy himself - hence it is common for us to visit a park and just 'do' the kiddie rides so I probably am really looking at thing's from Josh's perspective here. :)

My teenage son and I absolutely love thrill rides but for us Epcot is still our favourite park. There's plenty to keep us entertained at Epcot.
