Okay, I'm sure this has been asked and answered a thousand times, but what is your favorite water park and why? I get the feeling that Wet & Wild is the "low-man" on the totem pole when it comes to Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach, but I haven't really seen anyone give specific reasons. My kids are ages 9, 7 and 2. We've done both TL and BB and are thinking of trying W&W. The only reason I"m hesitant is because I get the feeling that people prefer TL and BB, but I can't figure out why. Please tell me specifically what you do and don't like about Wet & Wild
Thanks!

I haven't been to W&W yet so I'm not really qualified to answer this question. Consider this a bump to the top for more replies. :)

I WILL tell you why I love the Disney parks (in comparison to many other water parks I have visted around the country). They're clean, they're well themed, they're very well guarded and I know (from experience) that if my child gets lost they will be scooped up in about 1 minute and on their way to a safe waiting place.

There's also that 'Disney mindset' among guests (a small percentage notwithstanding) that allows people to queue up without biting each other's heads off. And the variety of activities suits my family; there's something for everyone.

Ok, enough of the ad for the fabulous Disney water parks. Bumping you back to the top for some reviews on W&W!

I like them both for different reasons. I LOVE the wave pool at Typhoon Lagoon, but the theme at Blizzard Beach is way better (in my opinion). It is nice to experience "snow" with out the cold! LOL (being from Canada).

I'm the opposite of twinz. I like TL better because the theming is more of an "island getaway". BB is way too snowy for me. Living in a snowy, cold climate makes me want to go somewhere that I'm not reminded of it. :D

While we really enjoy both parks, we'd probably choose Typhoon Lagoon because of the wave pool. We really like the surf waves, and we really like the fact that we can always find a spot in the wave pool that isn't too crowded for us. Plus, I'll second the previous post about the island getaway theme. This is just a great park!

blizzard beach is my favorite water park because it has the most exiting slides and the theme is awesome. we like the wave pool at TL better though. BB can also be a very hot water park(all that concrete can be torture on the feet) and not alot of shade. TL slides are slightly milder than those at BB but still alot of fun. We have been to wet n' wild several times and have found it to be a enjoyable park, though it has no theme like the disney parks. The key to w&w is to go in the off season when it's not soo crowded. we will never attempt to go to w&w again in the summer time....just too darn crowded and too many local kids..w&w doesn't have a real "family" feel to it like at the disney parks. bottom line: BB has the best slides, TL has the best wave pool and w&w comes in a distant third.

I've never been to Wet and Wild. From what I've seen of it, it just seems bare and all "plastic". No themeing.
We like Typhoon Lagoon because it is so tropical.
The winter theme at BB is great. The lines always seem longer there though.
We always arrive at TL early and get a spot overlooking the big wave pool.
We love hearing that big "WHHOOSH" when the wave is starting and then everyone starts screaming. :p

A few years back we bought one of those multi tickets to sea world, universe and a water park which I think was wet and wild. We hated the water park. It is hard to explain but it seemed to be very plain and not up to date maintained. We ended buying tickets and going to Typhoon Lagoon. Since then we have also gone to Blizzard Beach. We prefer TL because of the wave pool. Blizzard beach is good for the thrill rides but the wave pool is continuous where at TL it is not. Both disney water parks are also so well themed and very clean. I think it is really a personal preference to if you like BB or TL.

My favorite water park is not in WDW, nor is it in Florida... it is Water Country USA located in Williamsburg VA, and owned by Anheiser Busch.

Why is it my favorite... there are more tube rides, and less climbing.

We have been to both of the water parks in WDW and they are very visually interesting, however, we find that we are worn out just getting to the rides. The lines meander everywhere, and take so long, even with the place isn't crowded.

We also don't enjoy body slides, and there are more of these in Disney parks than tube rides.

I couldn't choose between the 2. Both are really nice, but I have been spoiled by the best only 45 minutes from home.

TL is my choice, due to several reasons, some of them strange. I'm a no-tan redhead who hates the heat, DW is a sun-lover. TL offers the best mix for both of us. She spends most of the day in the wave pool, I spend it on Castaway Creek, where there's shade. And there's always a good place where she can sit in the sun, I can sit in shade, and we're three feet apart.

For those without children, TL seems to be a little quieter, as BB, with its faster slides, seems to attract the mother load of the teen crowd. And there's more sand and soft dirt, less cement. And I can't think of any place that, for me, defines vacation more than floating down CC, hat pulled over my head, hearing Tilly blow high noon, meaning I've got six more hours to float. Also, TL definately fits the "magic" catagory of removing you from reality and taking you elsewhere. Only from atop Mt. Tilly can you see the outside world. Note, I think BB fits this bill, too!

Negatives to TL are if you are going to "ride the rides," be ready for lots of concrete steps, while BB has the ski lift. And the raft ride at BB blows away all the rafts at TL.

But if you're in full relax mode, I vote TL.
