What is your easy bake sale treat?

I would love the recipe Please:) How much did you 3 cookies for? How much did you sell the rods for?? I'm keeping a list for DD. Thanks :)

We sold them for $1.50 I think. This was for the Christmas parade. We sat up a table and I had them sitting in a Christmassy basket so they were displayed really cute. We could have sold two baskets full!! The kids and adults loves them! I plan to make them again this year.

What I liked about this too is I made them a day in advance so I wasn't rushed with it. They could even be made before that because thy stay fresh. Plus they are so easy to make.

Where can I find the recipe for chocolate no bake cookies. My mouth is watering for some now-lol! Anything thats easy and can be made a day ahead is perfect!

I use the same recipe listed by by Maslex, but my calls for 1/2 cup peanut butter and 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Other ingredients, quantities, and directions are the same. I use quick oats.

I think these could go for 3 for $1.00.

Oh, and to add, I scoop my no bakes with a small ice cream scoop. Makes it easier.

Rocky road brownies are so easy to make and they sell so well. I just use a box brownie mix and when they are almost done put on the top mini choc. chips, mini marshmallows and crushed nuts ( I use walnuts). Then put them back into the oven for a minute or two. They can be really sweet but are so good.

Does anyone have recipes to share? Would like to try to make some items to test out before the sale.

I have a killer recipe for snickerdoodles, if you'd like it. :)

Also, a variation on rice crispy treats: use graham cracker cereal in the recipe and top it with a layer of melted milk chocolate chips. "S'mores Bars"! :thumbsup2

I would love to have your snickerdoodle recipe.

Thank you for the recipe. Do you follow it exactly or do you make any changes? I wanted to make some tonight but I'm out of oatmeal :( I'll have to buy the big canister so i can make these cookies and some oatmeal cookies-double yum!

Yes, this is the recipe I use and I make a couple little changes here & there. I cook the butter/cocoa mixture for about 3 minutes or so. Then I add in 2 of the cups of oatmeal at once. Then slowly add in the 3rd cup all the while stirring. You want it a bit runny so it doesn't all "seize up" before scooping them onto the parchment paper. They will harden up.

Hope this helps.

It may not apply here but dd's theater group always did a bake sale during shows. I do enjoy baking but I started donating cases of water to the bake sale. I can get a case for around $3 and they could charge $1 a bottle. LOTS more revenue generated than a batch of brownies. Plus easy for me! Lol.

It always sold out too

Did I see you mention that mostly adults would be buying? My favorite cake always sells early at bake sales; we don't slice it because adults usually want to take it home to the family or use it as a party dessert:

Pineapple Angel Food Cake

1 box angel food cake mix
1 lg can crushed pineapple (in its own juice - do not drain)

Dump pineapple and juice into cake mix, mix as recommended on box, pour into angel food cake pan and bake according to box directions. If I know my guests like coconut, I add a small bag of flaked coconut. Couldn't be easier or tastier (and if you don't add the coconut, it's pretty "figure-friendly").

Fresh baked breads sell great. I use my bread machine to make the dough for Challah bread. After the dough cycle, I take it out, braid it and bake in the oven. Last year my dd's show choir had a Christmas bake sale and the breads sold for $7.00 each!

They look very impressive and you can even sprinkle poppy or sesame seeds on top if you like. And they really taste awesome.

Would you share your frosting recipe if you don't mind. I am not good at piping :(.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. Keep them coming :goodvibes

Super easy, super yummy buttercream frosting...

Ingredients
3 cups confectioners' sugar
1 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 to 2 tablespoons whipping cream

Directions
In a standing mixer fitted with a whisk, mix together sugar and butter. Mix on low speed until well blended and then increase speed to medium and beat for another 3 minutes.

Add vanilla and cream and continue to beat on medium speed for 1 minute more, adding more cream if needed for spreading consistency.

My 8yo makes these by herself all the time. This recipe is so easy and so good. You don't even need a mixer. We stir in 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips or chunks at the end. Yum!

Bittman brownies
Time: 30 to 40 minutes
Makes: 9 to 12

8 tablespoons (1 stick) butter, plus a little more for greasing the pan

3 ounces unsweetened chocolate, roughly chopped (I use the Lindt 85% bar)

1 cup sugar

2 eggs

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

Pinch salt

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, optional

1. Heat the oven to 350°F. Grease a square baking pan with butter or line it by overlapping 2 pieces of parchment paper or aluminum foil crosswise and grease the lining.

2. Combine the stick of butter and the chocolate in a small saucepan over very low heat, stirring occasionally. (Or microwave them in a large microwave-safe bowl on medium for 10-second intervals, stirring after each.) When the chocolate is just about melted, remove the saucepan from the heat (or bowl from the microwave) and continue to stir until the mixture is smooth.

3. Transfer the mixture to a large bowl (or use the bowl you put in the microwave) and stir in the sugar. Then beat in the eggs, one at a time. Gently stir in the flour, salt, and the vanilla if you’re using it.

4. Pour and scrape the mixture into the prepared pan and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until just barely set in the middle. Cool on a rack until set. If you used parchment, lift it out to remove the brownies. If not, cut them in squares right in the pan. Store, covered, at room temperature, for no more than a day.

Tips:

If you use parchment paper (or foil) to line the pan, leave an extra inch or two overhanging each end. When the brownies are cool, grab each flap and lift them out of the pan.

Err on the side of underbaking: An overcooked brownie is dry and cakey, while an undercooked brownie is gooey and delicious.

Variations

Nutty Brownies: In Step 3, substitute 1/4 cup finely ground hazelnuts, almonds, walnuts, or pecans (use the food processor or blender to grind them) for 1/4 cup of the flour and add 1 cup lightly toasted, roughly chopped nuts to the batter.
