What is Your Best Universal Memory?

I have 2 especially dear memories, both involving my adult DD!
1) first ever visit to Ollivanders in Hogsmeade (pre-Diagon Alley days!), and my daughter and I are both speaking softly in French (we are from Montreal)

Hi from a fellow Montrealer! :cutie:

My favorite memory is more about my ds9... The poor thing is scared to death of Et. No matter how many times people tell him ET is nice(he saw the movie)...he is still scared.

Hey, I'm 30 years old, LOVE horror movies and for some reason, am absolutely terrified of E.T. to this day (yes, I know its a kid and family friendly movie). Was terrified as a kid for some reason and just never got over it. And unfortunately my mother made me ride E.T. this trip. She's not as nice as you! :goodvibes

Lol!...
well my son is 9 ..if he were 30 I might tell him to get his butt on the ride and face his fear..lol

On our first day in Orlando in Dec we did a double header with MK Welcome Show till 1pm, then scooted over to USF for the rest of the day. The atmosphere down the travelators was really good as alot of people arrived at the same time as us.

Then my wife was picked in Olivanders (over and above young kids, I don't know how they choose?!), which she loved, we never thought we'd get picked!

My husband, DD8, DD2, and I went to Universal for the first time in May of 2015. Our little one had never been on a roller coaster, but we thought we would try her on Flight of the Hippogriff. The sound of her laughter and delightful squeals as she rode it for the first time was absolute music.

The next night we decided that, since both girls liked FOTH so much, we would go back and ride it at night. We went back at 8 pm when the park closed at 9. The weather was gorgeous and breezy. The moon was rising above Hogwarts and the window lights twinkled. We heard Fang's bark from Hagrid's hut and marveled at the detail in the queue. We rode FOTH to the glorious childhood squeals, waving at Buckbeak as we passed. Then we watched both girls skipping down the exit line, excitedly cheering "Let's do it again! Let's do it again!" We did it again. Over and over. We must have ridden FOTH at least 12 times that night with no wait. Mom, Dad, and our two little girls. Our little family having a perfect night together. That will forever stand out in my mind as a magical family memory.

This thread really shows how far Universal has come. Six years ago there would have been at least one post saying that their favourite memory was leaving Universal Studios and heading to WDW.

I've been going to Universal for so long that there really isn't a best memory anymore. However, there are so many little things that just make me happy. Yesterday, in the car, a few bars of the ET theme played and it just made me feel so warm and fuzzy. I realized how there are so many little musical score clips that bring instant Universal flashbacks and instant joy.

Isn't that the truth!!!

We first went in 07 and there was hardly anyone there.....it was fantastic!! We immediately fell in love with Universal and from 09 stayed exclusively at RPR.

And so many people asked why we were going "there"..........they hated it, wouldn't be back and on and on.......

These same people are now clambering to go to both parks.

I have too many perfect memories to pick one :D

Wow.. There are so many that it is hard to pick just one! I think my favorite was riding Hippogriff as a family. It was one of the few rides that we could all ride together and we rode it several times. It wasn't too scary for my youngest DD ( who is a little faint of heart) and my 2 year old son was allowed on and he absolutely loved it!

First time I rode Back to the Future. That hooked me on the park.
I wish this ride was still there, my boys love that movie!! Its my best friends favorite ride and knowing its closed she had me watch a you tube video of it, its not the same, but I got the feel for it and it seemed fun.

This is a little bit of my history. When my Pop was still alive, he loved to go to theme parks and he would go on anything. He was in his 70's at the time. One day in Universal we wanted to go on the Kong ride. It had just closed and the CM (or whatever they are called at Universal) came out and told us. We decided to sit on a bench out in front of the ride and wait. It started up again 10 minutes later and the same CM came over to our bench and escorted us into the ride and we were put in the front seat. That was a Universal Magic Moment.
Another great moment was in IOA. It was cold that day, really cold. We were watching some people ride the popeye tube ride. Was there with my nephew and his wife. Very few people were riding that ride but there were a few. I took up my station on the bridge to fire the water canyons. I did the best shot of my life, landed a bullseye. This poor lady was hit square on, instant soaked, and I don't think she even new where it was coming from. That tickled my nephew so much he couldn't stop laughing. That caused the rest of us to laugh until it hurt.

When my 19 year old daughter who is the size of a 12 year old held her own at Fear Factor and received so much applause.
Was great watching her compete against bigger men and wonen.
This was this past Thanksgiving.

This time it was my 11 year old who experienced Harry Potter atteactions uninterrupted. We spent 3 days this trip (yesterday and 2 days before).

It's crazy what makes a great memory! Thank you everyone for sharing. Mine was this past year in September 2014. After an awesome day at UO, we went to Margaritaville to eat (I LOOOOVVVEEEE it there). We started our walk back to Hard Rock and the skies just opened up and it rained harder than anything I have encountered. My son and I ran as fast as we could, busted through the gate at HRH and just jumped straight into the pool fully clothed! Then we just laughed and laughed. We talk about it weekly...

The first time DH and I went, we went into the bakery near the entrance to US and couldn't decide on what flavor cheesecake we wanted to share so we bought one of each.:rotfl:
We sat at the tables outside for a good hour just hanging out and sampling our cakes. It is one my favorite memories of our time dating PERIOD actually.
