Turndown service has always seemed , well, bizarre to me.....DH and I had turndown service at a very fancy resort in Long Boat Key, and the pointlessness of it just cracked us up.

Blondie said:Not only do they turn down your bedding and fluff the pillows, but they'll also replenish any used towels and empty the trash as well! At the Dolphin they left a card with the next day's weather forcast.
The foil wrapped chocolate on the bed is a nice touch too!

whacked said:They "turn down" the sheets on your bed before bedtime.
They generally will check the room for supplies (towels, TP, etc) when they do this.
Also, a chocolate is usually put on your pillow.
Not really a bit deal, but I'd take it if it was free.
It's usually only "free" if you are spending a lot of money.![]()

pedro2112 said:If one is staying at a Deluxe resort, but not concierge, how early does one need to request turn down service?
ducklite said:I'ts available for free at all WDW deluxe resorts. If you are staying concierge or in any room at the GF it's standard. If you are in a non-concierge room you need to request it.
It is appropriate to leave a tip or hand it to them, $2-3 is sufficient.
