What is the tag fairy?

Okay, this may sound dumb, but what is this tag fairy I keep hearing about? :sunny:

Tag Fairies are good doing mods from these boards that put cute sayings under name, usually in colors. Which is something the average DISer doesn't have the ablitity to do...

The do this spontaneously, don't like to be begged or asked...they are fairies....

Usually the things written are cute and apply to that specific DISer...

Look around lots of people have them...(except me of course)

You'll never know when the tag fairy has actually visited until you answer another thread or start one . . . ::yes::

The tag fairy used to come around if everyone clapped, wished, begged, etc . . .but everyone wanted a tag and the tag fairy got all pooped out! :crazy:

(personally I think the tag fairy just ran out of clever witty sayings.)

Thank you Magicalmickey for asking because I was wondering too. I just registered yesterday and saw some posts on the community board mentioning tag fairies but i was a little shy to ask anybody.

Thank you Zurgswife and Wish Upon a Star for clearing this up for me.

I still can't get over everybody having such clever and pretty nicknames here!

I love to read everyone's cool tags. It's a great idea. One never knows when a tag will appear. I am patiently waiting for my first tag. In the meantime after I posted enough to be named a DIS Veteran (75 posts, I think) I put my own tag under my name. It's in black though. The tag fairy tags you in color!!!

The tag faries like to quote you (either in or out of context), especially if its embarrassing. Look for a post by Stepharoonie for a good example.

Does anyone know if the TAG FAIRY is related to the TOOTH FAIRY? I just thought I could leave her (or maybe it is a him) a little snack under my pillow and viola, I would get tagged again or maybe Zurgswife could get tagged, we all need a tag to feel wanted

The best part about the tags is trying to figure out what they mean!

For example, I always wondered if Erika's tag about being "Anthony's Girl" had to do with the Wiggles, but figured that I was the only slightly nutty Mom that thought a character on a toddler's tv show was a hottie! LOL, turns out that her tag was about "Anthony Wiggle" and it is good to know that I am not alone!

i got tagged while i was hiding at the lake over the mothers day weekend,, i put up thta i was hiding from them and when i came home i found that those rascally lil fairies found me anyawy
