What is the most overrated Restaurant at Disney

Another vote for LeCellier. Don't get me wrong the food is good but the tables are to close together and there is nothing special about the atmosphere.

Via Napoli-
We went to Italy earlier in the year and my son LOVES pizza, so we really thought after all the reviews that the pizza was going to be outstanding and closer to the traditional pie that is served in Rome.

Nope- underdone. DH even was a little disappointed and he never complains about food.

I wouldn't expect the pizza from Via Napoli to be too similar to pizza served in Rome, as Rome and Naples each have their own distinct style of pizza.

Of course they do. Thank you for clarifying. However, Rome does serve traditional Italian pizza at the many different pizza joints they have...I tasted some from all parts of Italy in my restaurant tour of Rome.

Doesn't changed the fact that the pizza blew big chunks. It was undercooked in the middle- it was straight dough. Too much sauce on it. Everywhere I looked, it was like that on many other tables.

Personally, if that's how it is truly made in Naples, then they can keep it.

Thanks for the responses. I absolutely looooove Disney, but for financial reasons we don't get to go as often as I'd like. So we save and save for a couple years

Woops-it sent too soon!
Anyway, I'm just kinda stressing over the restaurants I'm picking because I want it to be sooooo perfect, I don't want to waste the money on a place everyone talks about but ends up being just so-so.

Le Cellier - not that it's bad, it's just hyped up far more than it should be.

'Ohana - no reason this should be as popular as it is, there's plenty of good food to be found elsewhere, but people make it their life's goal to dine here...and plenty come out disappointed. (As a note, I have 0 desire to dine here, so take that with my typical grain of salt, and a lime ;))

Here's a tip, before you go, know that...

It won't be perfect.

If you expect it to be, then you're going to come away disappointed. Take each restaurant choice based on what you want to get out of it, and hang the expectations that others have set up for you, either way. It won't be perfect, but it won't be horrible, inedible, gross food either.

Overall (food and atmosphere) Le Cellier. We have tried THREE TIMES and no luck. The martini flight is really good, though.

Le Cellier.

I thought the steaks were "fine", the soup good, the atmosphere awful.

I think, way back in the day, it was quite the little hidden gem when many of the Epcot restaurants weren't that stellar. I think the other restaurants quality has gone up a bit. Le Cellier is probably the same but Disney got an ego over it as people started flocking there and they stupidly made it a signature dining place. Doesn't even compare to the other signature dining restaurants.

Chef Mickey's is horrendous. But I can't say it's overrated, because I don't see many people actually rating the food well. You go solely for the character.

I guess my reason for saying Chef Mickey's is it seem to be the one place that everyone thinks they have to book and so many end up disappointed in the experience. I've been there & done it several times for both Breakfast & Dinner. I'd rather do any other character meal except Crystal Palace. Someone asked a few days ago whether people thought they should book O'hana or Chef Mickey for breakfast their last day. The overwhelming response was O'hana.

Personally I have no complaints about my visits to Le Cellier so I don't consider it to be over rated. Yes the place is dark & the tables are cramped together but I could say the same about many other places at WDW. Beaches & Cream gives me claustrophobia. There are so many places that a lot of people rave about that I would never even consider eating at but I can't justify calling them over rated just because I don't care for the type of food they serve even though in my opinion they are over rated based on my not liking what they serve.

I guess maybe we need a multiple choice poll based on differing criteria.

'Ohana. Ate there once and it was simply awful. The food ws not good and they could not even provide silverware. Imagine eating salad with your hands and paying good money to do so? When we asked AGAIN for silverware we were told they ran out. After a very long time they brought some plastic forks. We visit several times a year and we never went back.

Le Cellier - I've wanted to like it. I've tried several times for lunch and dinner. Experiences have varied between just pedestrian to one of the worst things I've put in my mouth. The service was slow, it was loud and it will take a lot to gamble my money here again when there are so many other places to choose from. A shame. I really wanted to like it.

"Overrated" can mean lots of things to different people. Some will list perennial poor performers (H&V perhaps) as overrated, although I don't know how something with such poor scores can be overrated. I'd take a shot at restaurants that are rated highly, but don't deliver - like leCellier.
THIS! Exactly.. with all the hype, I expected to be really dazzled by Le Cellier - and wasn't. Been years ago but for me it's not as special. And not worth the effort it takes to get a seating. Others that left me underwhelmed are probably Liberty Tree Tavern and Tony's .. not that I was expecting much but even then, they disappointed.

Surprised how many people are saying 'Ohana.

I did it for breakfast, which was perfectly okay. A bit overpriced for what amounts to a limited character breakfast, with a limited selection of food. But really didn't have any complaints.

I've always heard great things about the dinner, but looking at the menu, I have zero desire to eat there. I think it mostly appeals to people looking for all-you-can-eat steak, shrimp and chicken. But unless I actually try it some day, I won't pass judgment. Many restaurants exceeded my expectations on property, and only a few really disappointed. (Chef Mickeys was a disappointment.. I didn't expect it to be good, but it was beyond awful. Le Cellier was a disappointment, but mostly because it had been hyped so much, but Via Napoli, Brown Derby, Artist's Point, Kona Cafe, all exceeded my expectations).

When Le'Cellier was a 1TS restaurant I called it average and overrated. Now that it is a signature restaurant for dinner and soon to be for lunch, a huge number of former LC fans have now jumped off the wagon and have joined me. :)

IMHO, I just don't get 50's Prime Time. Average food with a really quirky but fun atmosphere. I ordered thee pot roast and was just not overly impressed.

I'm not sure anyone is really 'rating' it but thought Crystal Palace was very average. Characters were great but food was nothing special.

There is only one restaraunt I have dined at I would never go back would be Hollywood and Vine! Not so sure if it is really that toprated anyway!

For places hard to get into, I would pick Ohana's while I love their bread pudding it is not enough to make want to go every trip.

'Ohana and Le Cellier are up on top of the "Overrated List" for us. Everything about 'Ohana was awful the last time we were there, from the food, to the service, to the obnoxious woman who's mic is up WAY too loud. Le Cellier is ok, nothing great but nothing special and too many people make it seem like the greatest thing there is, which it isn't.

Coral Reef is on our list, too. Once upon a time, this was my all around favorite restaurant on property. That was back when it was a quiet, somewhat elegant restaurant with good food and good service. Now, it's an awful chaotic experience with a boring menu and pretty awful service. I think, for the most part, those who enjoy it now have no idea what it used to be.

We don't eat buffets, but I find Le Cellier FAR over-rated (you get a much better steak at Shula's close by) and a that there are many other better options. For instance, you have a much better meal in general at the Bistro a mere minutes walk from Le Cellier.

All Chinese food on WDW seems very americanized (and horrible) to us. We don't eat crap like honey chicken at home (the nutrition info is just...mind blowing) so we don't eat at WDW like at the Yak and Yeti or the place in the China pavilion at Epcot.

That said, we haven't done the dining plan in years because it doesn't really work for our needs and habits.

First thought immediately Ohana. I have never felt so rushed in a restaurant. The meats were over salted. No one ever came to see if we needed our sides replenished (we had a table of six).

We had an ADR for Le Cellier for our upcoming trip, but we cancelled it because we changed our dates. My husband was bummed, because he wanted to try it. I didn't care, because at home I can get filet mignon for the price of one at Le Cellier. I will have to show him this thread. lol.
