What is the Difference in a Standard Inside on the Classic Ships vs Dream Ships?

We finally tried out an 11A on the Dream class; it was fine since we booked two rooms, and it was VERY NICE to be able to spread out. We are looking at an 11A on the Magic next year; I know there is about 15 extra sq ft in the Magic 11As; just wondering where this is and if it is noticeable. Is in the living area of the room itself or bathroom maybe (this is not the split bathroom) or kind of all spread throughout? Will we notice any more "roominess" in the Magic 11A? TIA!!

We stayed in an 11c on the Magic which is the same size room and it was very tight for the 3 of us. I can't imagine a cabin being even smaller. I have heard if you get a sideways cabin, it will feel much bigger.

We sailed in a category 11 on both the Magic and the Fantasy. We liked the magical porthole on the Fantasy which the Magic did not have. That was a big difference as it was at least a view of some kind. The stateroom on the Magic was slightly bigger (we did not have a sideways cabin fyi), but not in a very obvious way. There is just a little more room all around, but not much, and not all in one specific area.

Was it two adults and a child? We will just be one adult and two children so I think it will be do-able. Just wondering about the space on the Magic since the 11A on the Dream wasn't awful (but again, our party of 5 was split up between the two rooms). The virtual port hole was cool and I'm glad we got to experience it but it was not a deal breaker for us.

I should add that it was my 11 year-old son and me in the stateroom each time, and we were comfortable and had enough room. It was pleasantly cozy. Stowing luggage and shoes under the bed helps, as does simply keeping the cabin very neat.

It will just be me and my twin 12 yr old at the time daughters. I'm actually not worried about the space as much as I am not having a verandah! I was considering a secret porthole room but I don't think I like deck 5. We really run up to the pool decks a ton for food, drink, etc. But we also run down to deck 4 for the loungers. I don't know what to do. Having a mirror or a virtual porthole or even an ocean view is not at all the same to me as having a verandah; just a different experience. BUT this cruise is way too expensive to begin with and it will be cold I believe the first few sea days since it is in November (and prob the last sea day). So I am guessing we'd really only use the verandah on two or three days out of the 7 (this is what I am trying to convince myself of lol).

I've never had a verandah, so I can't compare, but I will say that we loved both of our cruises and didn't feel like we were missing out on anything. My favorite place to lounge and watch the water is deck 4, which is open to everyone yet never crowded in my experience. Have always found an available lounger. For our upcoming Alaska cruise, we're getting a porthole just because there will be so much to see, but for a Caribbean cruise where there's not much to see but the water, an inside room is fine for me if it really helps with the price. Since we only cruise during school holidays, our cruises are expensive enough without paying the verandah premium.

We have had both inside and outside cabins; oceanview and verandah. I did like having the verandah but will probably not pay extra for it again. Oceanview is nice and I would prefer it to inside but I can't justify the extra $$ as we (myself and DD16) are not in the cabin except to sleep and shower. I agree that inside cabins seem much less crowded it they are kept neat. We always unpack and everything has a place which I think makes it more comfortable. Next cruise we have booked an inside sideways and I am very excited to see how the sideways cabin works out. We will be on deck 5 which is our favorite. Short hallways and easy access to 3 and 4 using the stairs. In our experience it has been very quiet.

Yes, the main difference is that Dream gives you slightly less space, but with the virtual porthole. We are going on our first Disney cruise on the Dream and chose the inside for the virtual porthole and the cost savings. I was a little worried because we have always gotten a balcony in the past. But 2 weeks ago, we had 3 people in a 6'x7' Amtrak bedroom. So that 169 sq. ft. is going to feel like a palace!
