What is the difference between the standard view and preferred at Saratoga?

Trying to book and though we have stayed there several times I am not sure what the difference is?

Preferred view are the buildings in The Springs and Congress Park areas, all other locations are standard.

Right. This isn't about booking a view, it's about booking a location in the resort.

Be aware that the new booking categories don't take effect until January 2017. Until then all the point values are still the same.

There is no preferred at OKW. Just Hospitality House Area and non-HH area. There isn't a difference on the points charts like standard and preferred.

Although, honestly, the Saratoga Standard/Preferred is roughly the same as "Near HH" and "Away from HH." It's about what you're close to, not what you see.

Except there is a point difference between the two. OKW has no point difference.

Congress Park is more of a preferred view than close to the main area. (2 of the standard Grandstand buildings are much closer)

I always request the Grandstand buildings because they are close to the first stop on the bus route--always a seat in the morning, and first stop at night when I am exhausted.
