We flew last Christmas with Virgin and are looking to book for next Christmas.

At the moment, BA are considerably cheaper than Virgin. What is the difference in comfort and inflight service between the two?

Which one would you choose?

Thanks,

Camac.

IMHO there's not much to choose between them. I think currently BA edges Virgin in pretty much every department, but not by much and not by enough to make me choose them if Virgin were 50 quid a ticket less.

Out of choice, for the same cost, I would go with BA

We've flown BA from Gatwick and Virgin from Manchester. Both flights are fine and there is little to choose between them but for us Virgin has the edge as Manchester is more convenient.

If the price is the same there is little to choose between them. We would choose Virgin for a couple of reasons.
1) Entertainment system is better (Nintendo games keep the kids amused for a little longer)
2) Downtown Disney check-in iks great on day of departure

I agree with tartangirl, would also say that Virgin PE is better than BA WTP.

If however BA are cheaper then I would go with them as the differences are small.

Thanks for your answers - its pretty much as I thought.

Do BA have the headset TVs?

Thanks for the answers, I'm actually looking to go to the UK next summer and have been wondering the same question.

We also prefer BA to Virgin - but not if there are lots of £££ doifference in price! The food was slightly better, entertainment slightly better and more professional cabin crew.

personally im a BA man. i had a bad experience with virgin plus i found their service to be disgusting. my mother also traveled with them a lil bit ago and she is a celiac(wheat intolerance in the stomach lining) and even though she had requested a celiac meal there wasnt one for her. then when she requested they just try and find her some fruit the hostesses were very rude to her and said ugh cant you just brush the flour off?

while their planes are nice i've never liked their quality of service. where as BA... can never do enough to help us. we flew with BA to chicago a year ago and loved it. just as good planes as virgin. cheaper flights by a alot of moola. and the staff were so nice.

I've just returned after flying with Virgin and have to say that I am more than happy with the service. My mother needed special assistance and this was arranged no problem at all. The cabin crew were wonderful, very friendly and professional. The senior air hostess came and introduced herself to my mother and asked if there was anything she could do to make her flight more comfortable, but as they had already allocated her bulk head seats (off their own bat not because we had requested them) she was more than happy. I think with all airlines you get good and bad service and everyone's experiences will differ. I guess its when you start to hear more bad stories than good that you should start to reconsider your choices!

Im not sure what virgins tactics are this year but they seem to be pricing themselves out of the market flight wise
