I was on the WDW site & there is a distinct difference in pricing between a cabin & a home but the website doesn't tell you what that difference is. Can anyone help me? =)

unfortunately the Wilderness Homes have all been replaced with cabins, the transition i believe has been completed last month.

So we're looking at the cabin pricing then. Shucks, homes were cheaper. LOL =) Thanks again!

The difference was... they were just older.

Basically same floor plan, no deck and no log cabin theming. They looked like motor homes, whereas the new ones look like log cabins with decks, vaulted ceilings, and updated appliances and fixtures.

Have a Great Disney Day!

Actually the floor plans were NOT the same. The bedroom and Bathroom were the same, but they switched the kitchen and livingrooms. So in a cabin the kitchen is in the middle of the floorplan, and the living room moved to the far end, opposite the bedroom, rather than the middle,as in a home. Also the enterance was moved from the end to the middle in the cabin, and they added a large deck on to the cabins. Albeit, in terms of square footage they are the same size in the interior.

I just wanted to add that although we never stayed in a home so I can't compare the two, we just returned from a stay in a cabin and they are GREAT!!

We loved the room, the theming was wonderful and FW provided a wonderful escape from the crowds at the parks. :) :)

I am looking forward to staying in one of the new handicapped cabins. I have been religated to the old Homes as they had no handicap accessible cabins until recently.

KRAZY, We stayed in both. We stayed in a cabin this past March for the first time. I feel the same as you. The layout of the Cabin is far better than a home, and the larger deck is far more useful than the tiny wooden porch the homes have. Further the decor used in the cabin is far far richer looking than the tacky, cheap looking decor the homes had. The vaulted, wooden, open ceilings in the cabin add a feeling of volume and openess. The homes had a hung, white, fiberglass ceilings, which made you feel you were in an old RV that hadn't been cleaned in a decade or two.

I would agree with the poster though, the homes were considerably cheaper. DOn't read my post wrong, I did like the homes, and the pricing of them too. Just if you are to compare the two of them, The cabins are far far nicer, hence the higher price.
