What is the best way to get from POP to POLY for dinner?

I thought about taking the bus from POP to MK then hoping the resort Monorail to the Ploy. We have PS for 8:30. Wishes is at 9:00 which is park closing time. To get back to the Pop take the monorail to MK then get the bus back to the POP. Is this the best way?

IMHO, the best option after dinner is a cab. For me, it would be well worth the $12 - $15 to avoid being part of the crowd leaving the MK at closing. And I'd be back in my room within 15 minutes or so.

If you want to take Disney transportation, my advice is to take the bus to DD and transfer to the POP bus there. Again, I'd rather sit on a bus or wait in an uncrowded area than be part of a crush of people all trying to leave the MK at the same time. If that doesn't bother you, then yes, take the monorail back to the MK and walk over to the bus area to catch the POP bus. I'm not sure it would be quicker than going via DD at that time, though - you may have to wait for more than one bus if there is a long line at the MK POP bus stop.

I'd think your dinner would be at least an hour and you might not get seated immediately. Have coffee and dessert and relax. Very good chance you'll get to MK after the closing rush.

I dunno - maybe we eat slow, but I guess with an 8:30 PS I would expect to not be done dinner until around 10PM. MK busses night not still be running. What night is it and which park has EMH? If Epcot had EMH, you would monorail to Epcot (via TTS) then take a bus to POP. or you could take a bus to any other park or DTD, then a bus to POP.

IMHO, the best option after dinner is a cab. For me, it would be well worth the $12 - $15

This would be my choice if I was ready to call it a night.

DRIVE!! Last June we took the bus from POFQ to the MK, then monorail to the Poly; it took an hour and 45 minutes!

Driving won't be an option this trip. We are flying down. Other times we have driven but this trip we shall be carless.

Our Ps are for 5/19/2005 which is a Thursday evening and I figure that our meal won't be over untill about 10:00 or later. Epcot is the Extra Magic Hours park that night.

The Taxi is looking better and better!

The best way is to just drive there. Since you are staying at POP, there isn't any difficulty in driving over to the Poly for your PS.

If you don't have a car, then you are stuck taking Disney transportation or a cab. Depending on how late the MK is open that night you could take the MK bus from POP and then get on the resort monorail to the Poly. But the return trip could be a problem. Unless the MK is open until 10 or later, I don't think you could finish your meal and take the monorail back to the MK before the POP busses stop running. You may have to take a cab.

Now I'm concerned -- we will be carless staying at the POFQ and have a PS on July 4 at the Poly for at 7:20 pm --- someone plese tell me the disney transportation will get us there - if we have to take a cab back so be it.

You don;t have to take a cab either way - unless you are in a hurry.

Buses run between the resorts and Downtown Disney/Pleasure Island until quite late. The last bus leaves PI around 2 am. It might take a while to go between the Poly and POFQ via DD, but it's certainly doable -both ways.

MK will probably be open until midnight on 7/4, so you can take the bus to MK and then monorail to Poly and then reverse for the way back.
