What is it like in October?

Planning a trip for fall break in October 2016. I have only been in spring and at Christmas. What can I expect with crowds and weather? Is it still super hot? I have been told the nights are cool but I find that hard to believe since it is still in the 80s there now. So give me the low down . . .

I was there in October about 9 years ago. The weather was perfect! I'd say it was in the mid to upper 80s most days and the lows might have been in the upper 60s/lower 70s. I was never cold enough to need pants or a long sleeve shirt/sweatshirt. I didn't find the crowds to be too bad, but I know some people don't like going on average crowd days either so I don't know what to tell you there. The one thing to keep in mind is that the Food and Wine festival will be going on in Epcot, so that will make for larger crowds there (but totally worth doing that). Also, the MNSSHP will be going on in the MK some nights so you will probably want to avoid that park on party days.

Check easywdw for expected crowd calendars. Lots of folks have fall breaks so it could be crowded. Weather for next year can't be predicted. As many advise, check before you go and bring layers.

We were there in early Dec this year and did not need anything for the evenings. Many had extra layers but we were fine in shorts and t shirts.

October used to be a great time for crowds and weather. The weather can be very good or can get on the hot side still. Still potential for rain in the afternoons but does change over to the drier patters this time of the year too. Food and Wine has been discovered over the past few years and the crowds are getting very large in Epcot and even the other parks (from what I hear). DVC resorts are generally 100% booked well in advance of October where it used to be easy to get a room.

We have a place in Orlando now so we don't need to worry about booking a room and we were here for all of Food and Wine. This year, the crowds were busy, but seemed worse last year. This could be just because we had more opportunities to get to Epcot. Honestly, we never went into the other parks this year so I can't say how busy they were. The weather was very good this year IMO.

We've only gone in October and with fall breaks becoming more common it's steadily getting busier. This year we were surprised by the large crowds at Mnsshp

We've had anywhere from 90 degrees to 40 degrees but usually it's beautiful around the 80s, low humidity and very little rain.

The weather can break in October and provide some cooler relief. Or not. The year we were there in early October it was still crazy hot. The people there 2 weeks later were wearing jackets. And I've seen reports of 95 degrees on Halloween day. I think in general it's possible to find cooler weather, but not probable.

When we were there in early October we got no relief in the evenings either.
