Thats the best part about Disney. Theres a magic there that cant really be explained. The people that get it will always get it and some people just dont and never will. My family goes twice a year now and we always hear the same snickering from other friends and family who have been there and just dont get it. I always tell them to stop trying, if they've been there and still dont get it, they never will. For me, its an escape to a different world where most people are happy to be there and most of the workers are happy to work there. It really is the happiest place on earth. I'm a corporate slave working with miserable people, I live in a big city where life is fast paced and people are just frantic and cold. Disney is just like being in a fantasy world for a short time. I havent found a place yet that comes close to matching it for a family destination. It never fails that we end up comparing wherever else we go to disney and they just never compare. The people are never as friendly, the parks are never as clean. The other places just dont have that magic. I think Disneyworld has truely lived up to Walts vision as being the most magical place on earth. Dont get me wrong. Im actually a very cynical person and I do realize that its just a business, but at least they do give you something for your dollar. It beats the other major parks that charge just as much, yet they have rides with the paint chipping off, the workers are miserable. Its just not the same. But the bottom line is that my family gets the magic and thats why we love it. And each trip we will tell every person who mocks us about "wasting" our money that they just dont get it and that they should just stick to baking themselves on the beach with a beer in their hand while their kids wish they were with us at Disney. They used to sell a Harley Davidson T-shirt that said.."if you have to ask, you'll never understand". That applies to Disney as well.
