what is going on week of Jan.9 in disney?

I have noticed that mostly all DVC studios are booked the weekend of Jan.09. What is going on in Disney that weekend? We were planning on attending an Irish dance competition, but that is not so big that it would explain the DVC bookings. Most people will probably stay on Coronado Springs at the special hotel rate. Just wondering....

The Marathon is that weekend

Besides the fact of the marathon, the reality is that if you are calling only two months out for any time of year you face the risk of not being able to find a studio. There does not need to be anything going on.
