Is there anything special going on this weekend at WDW or Universal? I tried to get a hotel room @ WDW and/or Universal, there was no availability. Found a room off site, thankfuly, just wondering if we should go if it's going to be very busy.
We left this morning and the parks are filling up quickly with cheerleaders and band teams. Also, the resorts are all full of Mardi Gras people right now too. Since Sunday the wait times at all the parks was from 40- 85min for the big attractions!! It is not VALUE season there right now!!
Valentine's Day? Though I don't know if that would cause too much change in crowds. Maybe locals or fairly close people go for a long weekend, since Valentine's Day is Monday.
The UCA National High School Cheerleading Competition is this weekend. There will be thousands of cheerleaders there. My friends daughter is there now.
We left Disney last night, and yesterday at both MK and Epcot, the cheerleaders were coming in, in SWARMS!!!! Also, there were alot of high school bands arriving which equals crowded parks and noisy value resorts.
Also, with superbowl last weekend some people may have extended their trips to include a trip to WDW. And Feb 20th is the Daytona 500 so people will be coming in for that as well.

Wow, how do you know these events are going to be going on when you book 7-11 months early? Is there info on a website that can steer you to which weeks have competitions, etc. going on?
We were wondering too. The place is BUSY!
I suspected cheerleaders and Valentine's Day crowds.
We noticed several white vans parked at the STOL parking area near MK/Cont and wondered what those were about too.
