Every night something is getting 1 marigold plant. Just the leaves stripped down in a line....help:scared:

It may be rabbits. Planting lavender seems to keep them away.

slugs:confused3 we have slugs and snails and they love those plants so stopped getting them, I get patunnias, the slugs and snails never bother them but they devour all my other plants.

I cant kill them because well cant seem to kill anything. They are doing there thing so I just gather them up and bring them to a remote place like the park and they can eat to there harts content.

Also where do you live it could be bigger things not bug related.

Turn up the dirt to see what lies beneith that only comes out at night

Yes slugs are often the culprits, get some slug pellets.

Claire ;)

Probably rascally wabbits. They ate my marigolds down to the ground. I came out one morning and had about 5 of the little boogers having a buffet on one plant.

When something was eating my impatiens we put mothballs in the planter and it stopped...just an idea. Good luck!

It could also be June Bugs. They are having an all night buffet on my crepe myrtle and butterfly bush.

Snails and slugs.

We used to plant marigolds around our tomato plants -- that way the tomato plants would be left alone. Cause snails love some marigolds.:lmao:

Any of the above!

Mix cayenne pepper and water in a spray bottle and spray the plants liberally. It won't hurt them, and won't kill anything, but will make the flowers unpleasant enough that critters will stay away. You'll need to reapply after any rainfall. It's very inexpensive, and won't cause any real harm to any kids who might get into the plants.

Thank You everyone for the advice. I will start this Wed. I had high hopes for the Marigolds they were the giant ones. I'm hoping I can get some more.
