DW and I are just back from WDW vacation at WL.

We wanted to do the DVC presentation, but weren't able to make it since this was an extended family vacation. We did talk with a rep. that told us they are selling AK now. We have gone yearly since 2003 and think this is for us. We are just trying to make sense of it all now.

We are not interested in AK. Don't know why, but that whole resort just doesn't appeal to us. Are any others being sold currently. We are looking forward to an info on the new contemporary area tower.

Any info would be helpful.

If you wish to buy through Disney, call them and ask what they have available. They always push their current "new" resort and don't promote anything else, but occasionally have contracts for the other resorts that they acquired from ROFR. If they have none available, then check the resales on this board's sponsor site (click the Timeshare Store banner at the top of the page).

From what I understand from my guide, you can buy points at any DVC property when you are ready to become a member. However, there are a few things to keep in mind:

1. Current incentives are (usually) only given for the current resort being sold ... at this time it is AKV

2. Some resorts and/or Use Years are not immediately available so you can be put on a waitlist to be notified when they become available. This wait can be as short as a day or could stretch in to weeks or months.

As for the building next to the Contemporary ... we are all still waiting to hear that it will be DVC, oficially, that is!

Thanks. While we were there CM's would only give vague answers about it. Some said that they had heard that you could get a hint by looking on the back of the buses (DVC signs on the back of them all).

I doubt they will have any trouble selling the tower rooms.

pardon, my ignorance, but what is ROFR?

Right Of First Refusal. if you find a great deal on a resale contract, DVC has the right to step into your shoes and take that good deal off your hands...which they can then resell for a profit...leaving you to go find another contract.

list of acronyms for the future.
