My son will be 13 months when we cruise. He is already walking, so is he considered a toddler at the kids club (I read it is easier to get last minute reservations for toddlers vs infants)?
Under the age of 3 is all "lumped" together (nursery is "under 3"). I don't know that having a toddler makes it "easier". Maybe someone perceived it that way. But, if there is space, there is space for last minute reservations, regardless of age of child. My son will be 13 months when we cruise. I'm not sure about that. But infants and toddlers are both in the nursery. Maybe @KT2038 can weigh in on this?I thought it was 1 adult to 4 babies and 1 adult to 16 toddlers.

I believe OP was asking about making a last minute reservation IN the nursery (while on a cruise). Not a last minute reservation (actual booking of a cruise).Under 3 means you will be in the Nursery and have to pay for child care services. Last minute deals (or really any booking) are still subject to the following criteria in no particular order:
1. Space in the life boat at the muster station you will be assigned for the room you book
2. Space in the kids clubs and nursery. (Even though there are kids who may not use the clubs, Disney takes this into consideration for the head count.)
As to if there is any difference in ease of booking last minute, if the kid is under 3 vs 3 years and up, I would suspect so, because there would be more capacity at the kids clubs than the nursery. That point made, I cannot think of a time when I have read that it is easier one way or another.

But, in re-reading, I may be wrong.
Yes. I mean a last minute childcare reservation. Like I'd my baby is having a rough time at dinner or during the show.

I don't believe 3 year olds can be booked in the nursery. At 3 they go to Oceaneer's Club.I will be taking my twin 3 year olds on a cruise in Feb on the Dream. I am going to book nursery time for when we eat at Palo for both the boys and my 1 year old daughter. Will the boys be allowed to still use the clubs the rest of the time on the cruise? I just want to make sure we can take advantage of both options since they still meet the age max in the nursery. One of my boys has autism so he may be happier in the nursery, while his brother may be happier in the clubs with his cousins, but who knows. That's why I will schedule nursery time for our dinner at Palo to know for sure I won't be called down to pick them up.

Yes, I always thought that 3 year olds could use the nursery or Oceaneer's, based on potty-training. But I thought I had read (from one of the various YA CMs that have posted here) some time ago, that the age for kids in Oceaneer's is 3 (as in 3 year olds can no longer utilize the nursery), regardless of potty training ability. My son will be 3 and not potty trained as he has special needs and he will be going in the nursery. I have already booked his slots. I'm not sure if 3 year olds that are potty trained have to go to the club instead but I always thought it was age 3 and under for the nursery.

This is an actual Youth actives CM answering, nothing better than getting it direct!!!
Unless they have recently changed it, the nursery is three and under, according to the DCL website. I believe I have read on here too that parents of three-year olds can choose between the two.
