What is concierge level?

This is probably going to sound stupid to alot of people but this is my first time posting. What excatly is concierge level that I am seeing alot of posts about? Is this something you ask for when you make your reservation and which resorts is this for? Also, what do you get and does it cost more?

This post should answer most of your questions.

As far as the resorts which offer it, it's only available at deluxe resorts.

The GF has two levels, Lodge and Royal Palm Club, with RPC being in the main building. It offers a higher level of service and amenities.

The Contemporary also has dual levels of concierge. On the 12'th floor they offer "concierge light" with reduced services and amenities. The 14th floor offers full concierge services.

The WL offers concierge light only.

The BC, BWI, YC, AKL, and Polynesian offer full concierge service and amenities.

Each resort, and each concierge differs in decor and amenities. There are many threads on these boards about concierge and what guests enjoyed and disliked about the various services.

Nope, WL offers full concierge only.

WL offers full concierge. It's on the 7th floor. The offer the different breakfast selections, snacks, wine and cheese in the evening-which is more than just wine and cheese and desserts and cordials later in the evening. They usually offer one hot entree and a soup in the evening during the wine and cheese time.

They also have the robes and the itinerary planning service before arrival. They share the IPO office with the Poly.

I like WL Concierge. YC has a better selection of food but I have heard this is improving at WL.

We are going back to WL Concierge in May and can't wait.

That's good to know! Am I mistaken in thinking it was not as extensive a year or two ago when it was first stared there?

We were there in Oct. 2002 and it was full then.

FYI, the Yellowstone and Yosemit Suites are also on concierge level.

They do not have an actual lounge with a tv or anything. It is more of an area. I don't mind this because the area overlooks the beautiful lobby. There are tables and at least one couch to sit at.

OK, you talked me into it I just called and changed my reservation for the night before the marathon from the Polynesian to WL

Where does the Marathon start?

What type of concierge room did you book? A regular concierge room, a suite or a honeymoon suite?

The marathon starts at Epcot (in the parking lot). They run special buses for the runners to get to the start from all the resorts. This year DH ended up driving to the start, I'd be suprised if he didn't do so in 2005 as well. I like to see him at the half, which for him is around 7:45 at the GF. Figuring I'll be able to take the boat launch to the MK, then switch to the monorail and get there in time. Everything stars running early that day for the race.

What I don't want to do is stay over by Epcot, we were at the BCV two years in a row, and it's very difficult getting to the half from there.

We booked a standard concierge room. We'll be at the house before and after, but because we'll only have one car down there, the choices are either not seeing him run, going with him at 3:00am (NOT), or spending a night at WDW
