I keep running past threads where people love these Dole Whips but I don't understand what they are, what are they made from, and what flavors do they come in?????? :confused3 OK Dole Whip lovers.....sock it to me...show me some love...I want to be in the know :listen:

Dole whip to me is kind of like soft serve pineapple sherbert. You can get it in a swirl with soft serve vanilla ice cream. It is very good and refreshing. Lots of people get the whip on top of pineapple juice as a drink. I believe there may be other flavors sold at the stand as well.

It's just pineapple soft serve ice cream. You can get a float, as well, which is just vanilla soft serve with pineapple juice poured over it.

Don't really know....never had one but am told (by a great source!) that I should be beat with one! :teeth:

It's just soft serve with pineapple. It was nice, but to be honest, I liked the chocolate chip cookies with the ice cream between them better. I'd suggest the float over just the cone. The float was really good.

Thanks for the info. It sounds good to me but my DDs and DH will probably not touch it as they don't like pineapple. It also sounds like it would be good with a little coco lopez and rum...sort of a dole float colada :rolleyes1

Here is a picture of DD with her Dole Whip.

It's really good. I've only ate the Pineapple Dole Whip in a dish. I love pineapple and DD is OK with it, but she loves it. It's very refreshing on a hot, summer afternoon. If you're thinking of trying it..go ahead because it's only available at WDW DL, the Dole Cannery Tour in Hawaii and maybe very few places in the US. It is a tradition for us whenever we are at WDW. My mom loved the DOle Whips and since she passed away (wow..just realized it was 6 yrs ago today she died) it brings a smile and a happy memory of her.

The dole whips are the best thing!!! Cools you off on hot days. The stand that sells them also has other flavors (choc. vanilla and swirl) as well so if you decide to get one you can get your kids another flavor and not have to stand in another line. When I worked at disney (I was a character) and I got soooooooooooo hot...everytime I was able to take a break and get out of my costume...I went looking for the dole whip to cool me off.

I tried to get a Dole Whip last time we were there. I couldn't find it!!!! We went to this ice cream sort of stand (it was right next to the Tiki thing) but I read the menu and it didn't have Dole Whips so I got some frozen orange juice and vanilla soft serve twist thing that was pretty good. Maybe I'll have to search more next time...

If I am not mistaken, the menu says something like "pineapple soft serve" or something like that. I don't think it actually says "Dole Whip". Although there is a Dole sign somewhere on the menu.

Here is a picture of the stand that sells the Dole Whips:

They have always had them at the state fair here. For as long as I can remember...

I don't care for them and think they're overrated but others love them. That's why it's so great to see so many good snacks to try at WDW! Something for everyone.

I too had read all about them on here and wondered so I took the plunge last time-OMG it was gorgeous :thumbsup2 Coming from a country that pretty much does any ice cream as long as its vanilla I would kill for these....

NeverlandClub23: You happened upon my favorite MK treat. The Citrus Swirl! We were forced to try the Dole Whip a few years ago when the Sunshine Tree Terrace (outside the Tiki Room) was closed and we were not impressed. I love pineapple, but didn't really enjoy the soft serve. We do, however, make a special effort to get a Citrus Swirl every time we're at the Magic Kingdom.

For those who don't know, a Citrus Swirl is a soft serve frozen orange juice swirled with vanilla ice cream. YUMMY!

I have to say I am not a fan of the citrus swirl. We tried it once when the Dole Whip stand wasn't open yet, and I found the citrus swirl to have a bitter, unpleasant aftertaste. The Dole Whip is much milder and smoother, with a fresh, light taste.

My mother-in-law introduced me to the Dole Whip, and now I am addicted. I will even skip back over to Adventureland at the end of the day to get a second one!

It's good to know that it says pineapple soft serve. I'm not the brightest and would keep looking for the menu to say Dole Whip. :) The Citrus Swirl was pretty good. The orange juice was very tart but the vanilla balances it out pretty nicely. Does the place that have "Dole Whips" also have root beer floats? I think I was at the right place just didn't order the right thing. I can't get the pictures on here at work (yeah, I'm working hard) so I can't drool over the food at work. Maybe that's a good thing. :teeth:
