A couple of weeks ago I asked about breakfast options at WDW which are gluten free. My big problem was reconciling gluten-free with all of my other allergies, especially canola oil
I eventually went downdown to try Babycakes but the only canola oil free item was cookies. I tried one and reacted, so that was a no go. So I bought some chocolate at Ghiradelli and ate a couple of squares each morning! Pitiful breakfast but it worked. I have problems with most chocolates and am usually restricted to imported.
So now that I am home, I am wondering what ingredients Disney typically uses when making gluten free meals. I know that people mention chicken tenders but what are they coated in and are they always fried in canola oil?
I love the fried chicken at Primetime and don't seem to react to it but I still wonder what is in both the normal and the gluten free? I believe I have read that the gluten free ios fried in canola?? I assume the regular is coated and fried in corn??
I'm trying to see if it is worthwhile mentioning a gluten allergy if the alternatives are all off limits to me anyway? A quick list of allergies is soy, canola oil, rice, wheat, corn, olive oil, yeast, most vegetables and fruits.
I have always just figured it out myself. The tricky part has always been that what I react to at home I seemed to be ok with at WDW???
I am fine with dairy and eggs and a lot of gluten free stuff seems to be egg and milk free too. It is the replacements for those which kill me. For years I ahve had a double chocolate muffin for breakfast when at WDW because of my allergies but this trip they killed me. I have always been a silent allergy sufferer who had figured out a way around things. Now I am confused.
Sorry for rambling! My main question is what do they use in gluten free recipes? Do they always fry with canola? what coating do they use on chicken tenders? what is the gluten-free pasta made of?
Any other tips are extremely welcome.
Thank you.
