is this, no matter how much you plan, prepare and hope, YOUR FEET WILL HURT!!! Invest in several packages of Mole Foam and put it on the the bottoms of your feet prior to your long days at the parks. You will save yourself much pain and frustration. I have super comfy, supportive sneakers with a pair of $15 Dr. Scholl insoles in them. My feet were on fire after our first day at Epcot. We did 12 hours and my dogs were barking by the end of six. I purchased some mole foam at Walgreen's the next morning, taped up my feet for the next 8 days and it was so much better!

And I saw so many people wearing "stupid shoes" :crazy:walking around in the parks. How do they do it? Do they have no nerve endings in their feet?

thin, rubber flip flops are for gym showers, not marching through Dis!!!

Mole foam???? I just went on the Walgreens site, and there is not mention of it. Is there a brand name I should be looking for?

Usually most foot care products tend to be made by Dr. Scholl's. There is a product called mole skin that you may have heard of. Mole foam is an extra thick, padded version of mole skin. I found it right in the foot care section of a Walgreen's on 192 west of the WDW entrance. I'm sure any local Walgreen's, CVS or WalMart will carry it.

I bought a pair of walking socks for WDW that I love. I purchased them at a speciality walking store. They also make running socks that may work just as well. I really didn't have big problems, but I'm pretty active.

Good shoes (broken in), good socks (a must) and moleskin (or similar) all help for a pleasant stay at WDW. :)

You must have flat feet for hurt so much.
I just found out what pain was this christmas season working 3rd shift at Kohl's. I've tried everything and I just about crawl out of my car to my house after work cause my feet hurt so bad. Flat feet

One year, I kid you not, I took pictures of people's shoes! I had a digital so I figured, why not? Well, I had some very interesting photos. Mostly, What I took was people wearing high heels, spikes, platforms, etc. My DH didn't like this but I had an interesting time doing this! It just amazes me at what people will wear to the parks! I was in good walking shape and had on sneakers and I was still tired. Go figure!

Someone here on the Dis boards has a whole site devoted to WDW guest's bad shoes. Can't remember his name though. Is it Zurg?

In Tokyo Disney... when the Japanese go out to anything they dress up... men is suits and ladies in nice dresses with high heels. I mean these things are crazy they are like daggers... i dunno how they can walk in them period nevermind at an amusement park!!!

Yes, Steve... I noticed the same thing when I watched the Travel channel's specials on Disneyland Tokyo and Disney Sea. I have no idea how they do it! Suffer in silence, I suppose.

No, I don't have flat feet. It was from my feet rubbing against the insoles causing the burning sensation. The molefoam was a saving grace!

Will wear roller skates to Dis next time.

Sometimes those thin, rubber flip flops feel the best on me! They really mold to my foot well. But I don't dare risk it on my next trip to Disney. I'd feel safer with the K-Swiss tennis shoes.

On my first extended trip to WDW I was prepared. I had my walking sneakers (broken in by walking 3 to 5 miles a day for months beforehand), well-fitting socks, bandaids, moleskin, etc. After the first day at MK I was in agony. I had blisters between my toes, on my heels, on the bottom of my feet.

The next day I wore a pair of small men's flipflops I had picked up at GAP - with thick soles. They were heaven. I wore those babies on the next 3 trips with no problems.

Personally usually what usually hurts my feet is not the walking but the standing. Usually my cushy platform Sketcher sandles are really comfortable during the day and I change to tennies at night. I think that's really the trick to keeping your feet happy. I guess everyone else is different.

I have to admit, I wear sandles to Disney Land all the time. Never bothered me, and I do Disney camando style- open to close. My kids have been trained since birth, so they are great park camandos now too.
But, and you may hate me for this, I have never had a foot blister. Don't know why, just luck I guess.
For my kids I bring a second pair of socks and baby powder. Learned this from my old "walk-a-thon" days. Dry feet are less prone to blister, so changing socks and powdering those piggies helps.
I carry mole skin just in case, and have been known to offer it to complete strangers...

No one in our family( knocking on wood here) has ever had a foot problem at WDW. We wear well broken in New Balance shoes, good, mid thickness socks, and this is the clincher, we rub soild antiperspirant on our feet first. If our socks get even the least bit damp, we change them too. Works for us.

One trip I bought those Dr.Scholl's gel cushion insoles for the trip. I ended up taking them out after the first day because they were rubbing on my instep. I've never had a blister, but have traveled with people who did, so I always bring moleskin, since the day I first read about on these boards. It saved my BIL in October, he bought new shoes 2 weeks before we went. And my mom, too.
Another tips I read was to spray antiperspirant on your feet to keep them from sweating and causing blisters that way. I works for me.

For shoes I like Reebok Princess, no seams to rub against my feet.

someone else who wears Reebok Princess(es)!

i have been shopping around for another shoe - ones that others on the board suggest. nothing feels quite right - either no arch support, too much arch support, or arch support in wrong place; and - you're right, Lori - those seams! i am also limited as to what is available in my size - 4 1/2 - ugh! they always want me to try on the children's shoes...

since we leave Saturday, i think i'll just stick with my Princess(es), and possibly get some of that 'mole-foam' for a little cushion...
thanks, Lori -
Happy Holidays!

One of the number one things I learned a couple of years ago when I was training for the Jimmy Fund Boston Marathon Walk a couple of years ago was that good socks are at least as important as good shoes. I swear by Thorlos, which you can get at most sporting goods stores. I walked the whole 26 miles from Hopkinton to Boston with no serious problems. Actually, my back hurt worse than my feet or legs at the end! ;)

By good socks, what exactly are you referring to? Don't mention brand names because we may or may not have them up here in Canada! Are we talking thick cotton, or a mix of something, or a reinforced heel and toe, or what?
