Hmmm, who knew that there was a time limit on threads. :rotfl2:

Let's start this again!

Hi guys! My name is Heather and this is my TRIP REPORT! :welcome:

I am about to share our third day at the magical world of Disney! Anyone who is interested in catching up to where we are now and learning about me and my wonderful DH here's the original TR thread - http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2182946

OK! Now where were we? Right!!!

Day 3 -

I’ve never been one of those people who don’t like their birthdays. I realize that I am only 26 years old, and that the dread may come later in life. But as far as I am concerned – 1 more awesome year down. Let’s see what the next one has in store for me!! :goodvibes
So, today I figured that we would sleep in. We had a late night last night with the Magic Kingdom’s EMH’s, and I figured I could really use some beauty rest. We would have a relaxing day at Epcot, stroll the World Showcase, drink my way around it :rolleyes1 have a glorious dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse. Afterward, maybe chill in a beach chair and watch the water from the beach. And all would be right with the world. :cloud9:
So, I am lying in bed at about 8 am staring at the ceiling. Too late to make RD, too early to really “sleep in” and follow through with my stroll, drink and be merry plan. As I lay there looking at the ceiling, I realize that we are in Disney and I am lying in bed doing nothing. :scared1: So, we head down to the pool for a quick morning dip! After about an hour of lounging by the pool, we decide it’s time to shower and get ready for our 1st day at Epcot!
As soon as we get there, we get through the gates and start looking around to see where I should collect my sweet birthday gift card. After I get the wrong answer from not one, not two, but 3 Cast members  and we had to exit the park and then go and wait in the ticket line. 10 minutes later and $75 richer, we head back into the park.

After some quick pictures of the F&G festival and a quick pit stop into the Art of Disney, we decided to head over to FW. Since there is absolutely no way we are going to get on Soarin’ anytime soon, we FP it and head towards Figment and HISTA. Figment was pretty cute, HISTA we probably won’t do again seeing as how I enjoyed the entrance queue (the super cute opening with all of the Kodak pictures) more than the actual show.

So, after we are brought back to regular size, we decide that we have cut it close enough and that we should head over to Tokyo Dining for our lunch reservation.
Lunch was wonderful - the sushi there is always amazing. Colorful, pretty and always very fresh. At the end of our meal, our sever brings out a piece of chocolate ginger cake with about 5 other servers to sing Happy Birthday to me. (OK, there might be ONE thing that I don’t like about birthdays :upsidedow) But, the cake was delish and by the time we finished up, I spotted a Photo Pass person out the window in front of the landmark in Japan and we rush out the door to grab him.

We start to make our way around the WS going in and out of shops, stopping to take some pictures and by the time we make our way almost all the way around we stumble right into Sergio, about to put on a show!
I just want to interject and say that this is the reason that I love going to Disney. You can go there a hundred times and still not see the same thing twice. I love that most of our favorite moments in our Disney trips aren’t the ones that are planned, they aren’t even from the rides, or at the shows that we just had to see. They’re from the random encounters with people you just so happen to meet or something unexpected happening while just wandering around.
277.jpg

284.jpg

Anyway, I am really happy that we got to see Sergio!! He was hilarious, and everyone was having a great time. I want to try to do this every trip that we take to WDW. Try and see more of the street performers. At least one of them every time we go... Last year we got to see Matsuriza (I think it was them), the drummers in Japan. Next year I am really hoping to see Miyuki or the Chinese Acrobats. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see who we stumble upon next time! :goodvibes

After Sergio, we grab a few frozen cocktails at the ‘Joy of Tea’ stand (note: The Peach Snap was delightful! The Green Tea Oau Ling,.. or something like that – was NOT…) and make our way over to Mexico. When we’re finished exploring the shops, we hitch a ride on 3 Cabaleros with no wait at all...Is anyone suprised?

Pictures, Walking, Pictures, Walking, we find ourselves at Club Cool. Dum, Dum, DUM!!!! We have never been there before... Bob likes the one from Japan (he keeps saying it's because it’s healthy…) I kinda like the one from China….

Oh, yeah… and I hear that you just have to try Beverly. :scared1:

After our adventure at Club Cool. We decide to do a little shopping on our way over to dinner at the Yachtsman :cloud9: We had never been there before and were both really excited to try it this year. So, we walked through Mousegears where I found the perfect addition for my Mickey Kitchen that I have been planning for my imaginary house.
312.jpg

We were about 15 minutes early for dinner, so we walked around and took some pictures down by the Yacht and Beach Club. It is beautiful down there. I love the lighthouse and the pool looks AWESOME!

317.jpg

After a few minutes of sightseeing we went to Yachtsman, gave our names and were seated in a quite little corner overlooking the pool.
320.jpg

319.jpg

The food was FANTASTIC. I had an appetiser that I will say is the best thing that I have eaten in my entire life. It was a softshell crab served over fresh hot cornbread and drizzled with butter and crispy bacon bits.

O.M.G.

Heaven. Heart Disease on a plate...but still Heaven.

After dinner and a very cute 'Happy Birthday' card from our server Lee - we waddled over to the ESPN zone :rolleyes1 to watch the Pens/Caps game. We originally had plans to watch Illuminations since it was my birthday and it's my favorite show at WDW. But when we got there, stick a fork in me...I was done. Bob left the choice entirely up to me. Either we stay until the end of the 1st period - leave and watch Illuminations as planned....Or we stay and watch the game....

 Decisions.....

I mean Bob is usually the hockey nut and I am the Disney nut. That's the way it is... But...but....hockey..... I caved! Hockey it was!

Too bad that was the one game that we really got our behinds handed to us in overtime. :sad2:

But - we are still in Disney! And tomorrow I will wake up at the crack of dawn and have an awesome suprise that only can happen with a little pixie dust and the help of a CM named Kimberly! :wizard:

I'm first????????

Day 4! :goodvibes

Well, as promised I woke Bob up at the crack of dawn. There is no way after seeing the madness at the big rides at Epcot yesterday that I was missing RD at Hollywood Studios of all places. We showered, watched some more Stacey as we got ready  (what can I say… we love her!) and headed out the door to see some movie magic!

As we were standing in line about 30 minutes before RD, I was trying to figure out the best route to TSM. This is what I was most worried about this trip, getting on TSM with the quickness. We were in WDW last May and we missed the soft opening by only a week! So, I have been super excited for this all year! I was looking around - eyeing my competition if you will :rolleyes1 :lmao: - when I see a few cast members standing together in a huddle. I point to them and lean over and say to Bob that they will be picking ‘The Family of the Day’ soon. I literally just got done telling what that means and tell him to keep his eye open on all of the families (because I am nosey  and we were guessing who may get chosen) when all of a sudden there is a tap on my shoulder and a CM standing there introducing herself to us. Her name was Kimberly and she asked a little bit about ourselves and why we were in WDW. We told her that we were celebrating our 1st anniversary and my birthday and she asked if we would like to help her ‘open the park’

:scared1:I immediately started smacking Bob’s arm screaming ‘OHMYLORDYESSSYESYESYESYESSSSS!!!!!

:yay:

So, we go into Guest Relations and Kimberly gets us some drinks, and talks to us about our trip and where we are from. She talked to us about the Penguins and how many times we have been to ESPN already….:rolleyes1 (Apparently our sports enthusiasm showed.) No judgement of course….

She explains that we are going to be part of the opening "movie" that they will be filming and that we will be getting into a car that was owned by Walt Disney personally, that several presidents have been in. :snooty: We'll be picked up, "shoot our scene" and then will be taken down Sunset Blvd in the car, and got to choose between either RnRC or ToT to have the 1st ride of the day - ALONE. :woohoo:

So, after some deliberation we chose RnRC! (Which ended up being a great choice because the rest of the day and the next day that we were at DHS, the line for RnRC was cr-a-a-a-zy. So that was the only time we rode it the entire trip)

330.jpg

331.jpg

333.jpg

335.jpg

We then walk out of the building and she weaves us through the crowd and past the rope. She takes our picture in front of the hat all by ourselves, says that she's just going to keep my camera take pictures during and then meet us at RnRC. The film crew comes and does their skit, and a woman named Tootsie Something-Or-Other comes and picks us up in the car. We are in front of about 3,000 or 4,000 people at this point. It was so exciting! We were cast as "The Happy Couple" and we had to wait until the countdown was over and yell into the microphone "HOLLYWOOD, HERE WE COME" and then they wisked us away down Sunset and opened the rope and the floods of people poured in.

337.jpg

340.jpg

At this point, all I could think about was TSM (isn’t that sad …) because I had planned on going straight there. But, as soon as we got halfway down the Blvd, it snapped out of it and hit me how awesome this is! We arrive at RnRC. We're waved to by all the CM's with their big Mickey hands and then went into the sound booth. It was sooo cool being in there alone! I commented once we got out of the room that we would have no time to search for hidden Mickey's in this line, because that's usually how we spend our time in the "alley" before we get on the ride. :rotfl2:

So, we hop in the car and we take off! The music was cutting in and out the whole time, but we didn't care! We were still so excited! When we pull in the CM's were like "Oh, NO WAY! You're not getting off that easy! We know the sound was messed up - you're going again!"

We take off for a 2nd ride, with sound this time and it was amazing! You heard no one else screaming - it was so cool to be in there alone! :woohoo:

When we got off the ride, Kimberly was waiting for us. She gave us FP's for TSM, another set for any other ride of our choosing and told us that she was going to leave a package for us at Guest Services for us to pick up when we leave the park! We took some pictures with her and then went on with the rest of our day!

342.jpg

After our morning adrenaline rush, we run straight to TSM. The line was crazy long of course, even though it only said it was a 30 minute wait. So we decided to just grab a FP for later and use our ‘free one’ from Kimberly. We get on with only about a 15 minute wait, which gave us just enough time to meet some people who recognized us from that morning :goodvibes and to take some pictures of the very cute queue. Then it was finally our turn, and it was super fun! Bob of course killed me, and even though I get very competitive – it was a really really fun ride! After TSM, we walk back down towards Sunset, ask a Photopass person for a picture in front of ToT, got about an hour long photography lesson :sad2: – and run to the Hollywood Hotel and get on the ride with virtually no wait.

We hit the GMR and then headed over to our lunch ADR at Sci Fi. It was pretty cute in there, the food was good, the cars were adorable and again we were seated with people who recognized us from our performance that morning! After we finished our food and our delicious milkshakes – we started to make our way to BaTB followed by our first time at One Man’s Dream.

Which Bob of course loved.

I am a huge Disney World fan. And Bob is a big Walt Disney fan. He loves hearing about his life and could listen to facts about him for hours. No, really…. Between you and me, I think he got a little offended when the Cast Member working in the theatre told everyone to try to stay awake during the show. :rotfl2:

388.jpg

We did a few more attractions before we started to see the clouds forming…. So we quickly ducked into TSM to do our last ride of the day. When we got out it was like a night and day difference, trees were blowing people were running for the gates. We went to Guest Services to pick up our package and we hopped on a trolley to take us back to our car because it was pouring.

When we got into the car, I tore into our package and it was both pictures from our rides on RnRC, an autographed 'Old Hollywood' looking signed picture of Mickey and Minnie, a certificate for Family of the Day, and Priority Seating for F! for Thursday night!

IT WAS TRULY AN AMAZING DAY!

Ok…. I have a confession. I have never been to WDW when the weather has been anything but gorgeous. The fact that it was raining when we were ready to leave DHS didn’t bother me, because I had already seen a ton of stuff. I did everything I wanted and more – I was ready to leave and go back to my dry resort and hang out in my room anyway. So, splashing in some puddles for a few minutes didn’t really bother me. But, after a few hours, a nap, some TV, and putting on my make up and my ‘Signature Dining’ finest…. when it was time to leave and go to the Boardwalk for our Flying Fish ADR and it was still pouring. I was NOT a happy camper.

So, let's flash forward and skip my temper tantrum. Shall we? ….

Dinner was great. I tried the ‘Tuna Tartar’ as my appetizer and ‘Potato Wrapped Snapper’ for my entrée. They were both good, but the snapper tasted like the pot roast that I had at Artist Point. They reduced a veal stock as the sauce which I did not know before I ordered it. It wasn’t bad. It was just surprising. Bob ordered Crab Cakes, and something that I don’t quite remember….. Hmmm…. Oh well.

But, what I was most excited about was that I had been looking everywhere since we had arrived for the ‘Magical Star’ cocktail that I had seen on one of the menus on Allears.com. I finally found it at the FF. MMMM, a few of those bad boys and Bob and I had both almost forgotten about my 6 year old tantrum. We finished up our meal and attempted to hang out on the Boardwalk, the sun was starting to peek out - but the rain was still a little too bad. So we decided to make it an early night, so we would be refreshed for Epcot again tomorrow!

WOW awesome update! You know how much I love DHS! I am so happy for you for getting picked as the family of the day. :goodvibes Okay, and maybe a wee bit jealous. :guilty:

Love all the pics! We can't wait to go back to Sci-Fi too, it's our first ADR for November! :cool1:

Thanks Shelly! We got cute pics inside of Sci Fi, but they turned out a little too dark to post online. :headache:

I hope you guys picked for FoTD there! It was definitely a cool experience!

The only thing that I regret about it was that I didn't have my camera to take a picture of the crowd behind the rope from our point of view. It was wild. Something that you can't describe unless you see it first hand.
