Something About Nothing............ #14

Went back to sleep and slept until just after 10:00. I really needed that. I think I will stay home today and take it easy. I have some laundry to do but nothing else is important. I picked out the clothes I want to take on my trip and put them aside. I wasn't going to buy another Scooby Doo shirt, but found this one and had to have it.

I’am pretty much done decorating for Halloween.
It all looks fantastic.

I did finally settle get a rental car for the trip.
I seem to be the only one here who doesn't rent a car. I never leave the resort or parks when I go, so have never needed one.

put my time to work after Charade's post jogged my mind.

finally, a small drop of $10 a night for us. little victory will buy the mr a beer each night = man math
Every little bit helps. I check the rates every morning.

that's a low rate & deposit, i'd jump on it as it's flexible rate
I booked my hotel for my January 2026 trip back in January before I was even certain we were going. I found Helios for $227. I figured I would never see a price that low again and I had plenty of time to cancel if the trip didn't happen.

Two weeks from right now I should be boarding a plane in Charlotte on my way to Orlando.

Rentals are crazy priced right now. But I do believe in doing that rinse and repeat until a lowest rate I see, until the day I leave or the day before. Still kills me almost half of the rate is taxes and fees. But I tend to stick to Alamo in Orlando, and seem to be sitting at a lowest one I got a week or so ago, as once again to be trending higher lately again.

Glorious sunshine yesterday and today. I think little one wants to go to that further away outlet today, as they have a Disney outlet there. But last time we went to that store out there, we walked out with nothing. With that store in particular, we either see quite a few things or nothing. We will also hit those stores during our trip, probably the one closer to Universal. They also get the same results as our local one.

Woot! This week, our evening arrival. Little one and I are stoked to have found the rate and switch hotels 8 days out, at our first part of trip mouse stay. Also got the difference between the killer great rate I got for RP in December last year, and the recent good rate at HRH, down enough, I think I will most likely cancel my RP rate. Thankfully, I will keep checking this week hoping for a further HRH drop.

Talk about shopping. We had breakfast out yesterday at our favorite diner, then, since was half way between our home and that shopping area in the far flung suburb where farms around it, we decided to drive further and did quite that shopping spree. Besides other buys, bought a perfect colored carry on bag that you can slide over the handle of luggage, and at a nice discount. Love it, as has lots of pockets and some have zippers. Seems to be well made. Will be nice to toss in the overhead, and push my smaller sized backpack under the seat.

Maybe more shopping today. Have to see if little one is ready. I’m always up early no matter which day of the week it is. Tends to also be during my vacation days too. Though with our late nights planned on consecutive nights,, this trip, I may be a later morning riser a few days. Are we getting excited? Yep.

Super Happy Saturday and hope all are having a Wonderful Weekend. Good morning. ☀️

Good Sunday morning everyone

For sure when the prices drop it is a good thing. Always nice to have extra cash for other things for sure.

my wallet will be lighter later. taking her after on annual school
clothes shopping trip & lunch.
Awwwww……you are a sweet grandma.

the few times the pickings were slim, took pictures of damage. also, indicated the exact location on rental binder & had worker @ gate sign off on it
Yes…..it never hurts to be vigilant on making sure your car rental is in good shape before you leave the lot.

That shirt is cute. Great selection.

all looks fantastic.
Thank you.

Since I’m there for a number of days I want the ability to get around and enjoy some offsite things to do.

You might want to take a look again at your hotel price I noticed some drop again this morning.

Mac hope you are doing well this morning.

Sending out some get will prayers to all our Sans family who are ailing.

The sun is out this morning….looks like it is going to be a nice day. Better temps as far as the heat goes. I will take that. Supposed to be high of 79 today.

I did get out and take a good hike Friday. I was beat when I got back home. Will keep it up as I want to be ready at least some for HHN and other things. My younger sister K and I always have a day at Disney Springs and all the walking at the parks and HHN in the heat does wear you down.

I think my counting does get off at times, but today is

Days until we leave. We will be at the airport waiting to fly this time in 14 days.

Just trying to stay healthy for the Trip.

By bruised foot is healing. Not sure the hike I did Friday did it any good, but I was no worse for wear.

I had a nice visit with my sweet Great-Nephews little J and M and M yesterday. The two older ones are 16 and 17 and little J is 5. They are all sweet fellas.

I have some things to do in the yard today. Looking forward to being out in the nice weather today.

I noticed a skunk out by the bird feeder a couple of days ago and I smelled skunk last night out back…..so wondering it it squirted the neighbors cat……yuck..

Need to get scootin…..have a wonderful Sunday everyone.

Steaks on the grill today, hope to beat the cold front/rain set to come thru…we won’t be out of the 60’s mid week for a few days! Brrrrrr

Canned some tomatoes yesterday as I just couldn’t keep up with them. Made a big pasta salad, dupe of the Evelyn’s one @ Cheesecake Factory, with my own tweaks. My favorite dish there that they changed so much it’s unrecognizable now sigh.

16 days for us, no changes $ on U hotel or rental car. Surprised to see Adventura drop to same price range as CB. In general, interesting how their rates bounce all over the place @ U, unusual pricing metrics.

This week coming up is full: mammo tomorrow, taking GD for back to school cut/highlights Tues with a quick lunch after, weds I haul long-distance to keep my 6 mo appt @dermatologist (and shop in the fancy stores in that area), Friday haul her to track & then a BD lunch. She starts school the next monday, will miss my buddy. I need to remember to move that out so the 2nd of of next year is timed to Oct or Nov. no fun to hide in the shadows all month for fear I’d get the hairy eye ball re having some color lol. It’s still hanging on from July trip

Are we getting excited? Yep.
There you go!

Charade should be back in fine form by her getaway date

Oh, yuck, that lingers. Knock on wood, no pet (or person ever sprayed here). I’ve smelled them on occasion, just never seen here. The raccoons & possums must chase them away lol

Oh geez, that sounds like some rough PT on it. Take it easy
