What has Obi been driving??

What do automotive vehicles and aircraft have in common? :goodvibes
What is used in both? :goodvibes

Tsk tsk Obi i thought you would have known the answer........batteries of course...:rotfl: :rotfl:

no what i meant was i thought you were maybe a travel writer for ttg (if that still exists) or travel journalist or maybe you were an independant travel agent, cos you have an extensive travel knowledge and have been so helpful to many different questions.

Sorry i have joined this thread so late....bit of Xmas shopping last night!! I'm not keen on Jags - I think they still have the image of "an old man's car"...Sorry if i have offended anyone!!

Now, Obi, if it was the Audi R8, i would have been on my way to meet you:rotfl:

There's me thinking that Obi was actually "THE STIG".

ps I have the new Freelander 2 and a 20 year old mini (which i have had from new and has only done 44,000 miles)

Gorgeous aren't they!? I'm changing my car in March and the XK convertible's on my shortlist... :thumbsup2

Beautiful cars:cloud9: If I hadn't already ordered my new car, the XK would have been the one I would have chosen.

That's exactly why I like 'em - it's VERY obvious when I'm behind the wheel that I am most definitely not an old man... ;)

Exact words of DW. Says that about Jags and Mercs. Women:sad2:
:rotfl2:

Which is what I drive at the mo. :lmao: Personally, I can't bear what I think of as 'lady' cars...

What have you gone for, Florence?! I am sooo undecided at the mo...

She has had BMW's for the past 10 years, I don't see them as any different to Jag or Merc, but she says they are Old mens cars, BMW are not:confused3
I am going to stand my ground in 18 months when we change, I am bored with the same everytime.

my dad has a gold freelander 2, I only get to go in it when I go home but it's ace, a company car though, he could never afford one if he didn't work for land rover!!

Too bloody old now for fast sports cars (and too many points on my licence!)
there comes a time in your life when you just look plain stupid in a young mans car. I reached that time long ago

Stig is too short, he is only about 5ft 6in, I am over 6 feet tall. :goodvibes

I have always loved "Q" cars, i.e. cars that do not shout fast, but are. For example I had a Toyota carina GTi, onle of only 500 built with the MR2 engine. I had it debadged, so that unless you saw the two exhausts coming out the back you would not iknow it was a speedy one.

Same now, I drive a Range Rover Autobiography V8 Supercharged, looks less of a speedy one than the equivalent Range Rover sport
At my age I loike comfort first :rotfl: :rotfl:

What do you think of the Freelander GOT?

nope, he works in branch at Stratstone Nottingham, he's the new parts manager. He used to be at HA Fox Nottingham Jag in the same role, the jags were nice but didn't have the sheer size of the Freelander!! I like the idea of hiring a crane to get me into a car! :rotfl:

I must admit, even at my age, I like the look of a nice sports car.
Something like a Corvette, Merc, Porsche, Ferrari.

A friend of mine ran a black Porsche and it was gorgeous !!
Looked really classy when he pulled up at the house.

Not so keen on the Range Rover types myself. Sorry Obi !!

Very pleased with the Freelander - nothing like the old ones (which were, to be polite, rubbish). The car before that was a shogun sport LWB (05 plate) so anything is good compared to that "bus". Boot space is slightly limited and i am already having trial runs on how to fit the dog and the suitcases in for our Christmas jaunt to Scotland! Dog might have to go in a trailer:rotfl:

There is nothing that i could really pick fault with and will probably get another one in May 09 (unless DH works extra hard inbetween now and then and he can run to the ultimate WAGs car - RR Sport, which i might add are almost every other car around here at the moment). Loved the gold/orange colour when i saw it in Florida but think it might not look as good in the fog and mist in Cheshire!

It actually looks better "in the flesh" from the front than the picture shows. It also looks better in light colours than darker ones. This is the new corporate front for all future Jags, I have seen the XJ replacement, rather Audi looking I think.

As for the Aston, well, always been my love. I have an 1988 AMV8, Oscar India version, costs me a bomb to keep in condition, but its my weekend/Sunday drive beast.
Not that impressed with the latest ones, too much based upon the Jag floorpans. The XKR is a lovely looking thing though.

It may grow on me like many other cars which I disliked at 1st. I have to have a look out for one. I do like the way Audi have gone with several of their cars.

Your very lucky to own an Aston, No doubt you worked hard for it. It will be a while before I could afford one. I'm think of getting a Mustang in the mean time.

All this talk of cars is getting me excited. We should (hopefully) be going to pick up our new car today
