What happens when child turns 10 during trip?

Thank you! That's good to know. Timing is everything. Now I have to find out if that's the case for airlines, too. The baby's birthday is in May and she could turn 2 during our trip next year. If we have her as a lap baby, I don't want to run into issues if she turns 2 before our return trip.

You'll have to purchase her a ticket. We are flying next month around my daughters birthday. Flying out she's 1 and returning she'll be 2 and was told she'd need a ticket both ways. I would have purchased a ticket anyway. I wouldn't want to fly across country with a child on my lap the whole way.

The same thing happened to us. My DD was still 3 when we booked and was not turning 4 until during our trip. I was worried I had received the wrong information from a castmember and called to talk to another just to be SURE!
I was also pleasantly surprised to realize we had purchased our APs last year the month before my son's birthday and it counts when we get them renewed for one more year :)

Do APs have different ages? If she was 3 turning 4 wont she just have a child ticket?

a child remains the age they started the trip at. If she turned 10 after starting the trip (even day 2), she's 9 for the entire trip.

No they don't...maybe that poster was referring to a 9yr old turning 10? I bought ODD an AP 2 days before her 10th b-day. That's when the start of our trip was and she was just able to use that same AP all year even though she was 10 for 99.9% of that year. They will change out the ticket to an adult one for free if you want but I didn't really see the need since it wasn't attached to any dining plans.

Just so you know, 3 and up require a ticket not 4 and and up.

So in other words it doesn't matter if your child turns 4 during your trip because 3 year olds also need a ticket.

Thanks for this answer. I have friends about to buy APs, including one for their DD9. I was wondering what happened when she turned 10 later on a different visit.

All they need to do is go to any ticket or Guest Relations window and an Adult AP will be issued at no charge and will have the same expiration date.
