Also, isn't one of the perks of California Grill the private rooftop patio for HEA viewing? I'd find it hard to believe you could arrive for your ADR well in advance (as Disney advises), have a 3-4 course leisurely meal, get to the patio for HEA, and take a slow walk back to your car, in 3 hours.

And, I always thought you couldn't be towed without clear signage warning you of the possibility.

Thank you, this is my point exactly. This 3 hour rule that everyone is insisting upon is literally published/advertised absolutely nowhere. But so many are claiming, confidently, that it's the rule! *shakes head*

It's not about hoarding a table.. my point is about this unwritten policy that you can only stay there for 3 hours. If it's not published, and the guards don't tell you, and there are no signs, then it's not a rule and can't be enforced. You all are talking about this like it's a written and communicated rule, and it's clearly not.

Nevertheless, my other point is that you can easily stay at a resort for longer than 3 hours after you dine, so I was saying that unless the guards clearly tell you that you have 3 hours, they better not be towing cars. Are you suggesting that you would never think to linger at a resort after a 1-2 hour dinner for drinks and to explore the shops and other areas of the resort? I could easily have a 1-2 hour dinner at the California Grill then spend another 1 to 2 hours at the Outer Rim having drinks and think nothing of it, and all of you are saying I can be towed for this despite never being informed of this supposed 3 hour rule. Are you suggesting it's abuse to eat and then spend time at the resort for longer than 3 hours? You all seem to be missing the point that this 3 hour rule does not seem to currently exist yet you're all saying it's being enforced no matter whether it's being communicated to guests.

Cal 407-824-2222 and ask how long you are allowed to park at a resort for a dining reservation if you are not a checked-in guest and let us know what you are told.

Ask the security host how long you are allowed to park the next time you have a dining reservation and you are not a checked-in guest and let us know what they say.

I don't know of anywhere at a resort where all the rules/policies are posted let alone the one related to 3 hour parking.

I have never heard of anyone being towed having stayed past 3 hours and as I have said when it comes to this kind of stuff it has been my experience that Disney is very lenient but Disney just implemented new fast pass policies because people were trying to game the system and if people continue to game the system to try and get out of paying for parking I am sure changes will come.

I am in no way saying you are trying to game the system and I understand that you could easily go past 3 hours on a dining reservation. I would just have the security host note your intentions of staying past 3 hours for peace of mind. Your call.
