What happens if you pay with GC then cancel trip?

I've tried searching and can't seem to find the answer. I plan to pay off my trip balance with Disney Gift Cards, but what happens to those funds if I have to cancel my trip?

From what I recall, the money goes back on that gift card...so don't throw them away!

The funds would go back on the gift card, so you would need to save them in case you have to cancel your trip.

Disney can and does issue NEW gift cards to guests in exact amounts, so there's no need to stash away a stack of used-up $25 and $50 cards.

But that is only if booked and pa8d through disney. If booked and paid via a travel agent money goes back to cards she used

1) You get your money back in the same manner in which you paid.
2) But, when you cancel WDW trip, your confirmation is mailed along with a Juicy Red Apple from our Customer Service Representative, Maleficent.
