What Happens at the Beach Club... Travels with Teens, Take Two, (PTR) 4/6 p. 29

I have to admit that I am an infrequent PP rider and, when I do ride, its always with a FP. I am excited to see that they will be making a new queue. That's wonderful news.

Cute throw back pictures of the kids. They are just adorable!

Oooooooh, I didn't know about the new queue at Peter Pan's Flight. For those dumb enough, I mean for those who are in the stand-by line, that will make for a more interesting wait for sure.

There were a couple of trips where PP was the first ride. We would cut through the castle and ride with a 5 minute wait. But now it is a run for Space Mountain.

The boys have changed...

As evidenced by these photos.

I have very fond memories of the show, one of 3 the boys did together (Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan and Schoolhouse Rock)

:cool2:

I literally saw the news minutes after I posted this update to the trip report! I am so glad to see this has been added. Whenever we walk by the line at Peter Pan, I am tempted to shout out.

"Get out! Now! There's still time to save yourselves!!!"

My theory about why the line is always so long is that 1) the ride is a slow loader with low capacity- you really can't fit many people into one flying ship and 2) it is a non-scary ride that anyone can ride, so the whole family can enjoy it.

The new queue area won't change these issues, but at least there will be something for people to look at while they wait.

:thumbsup2

Double pirates is not a bad thing, not a bad thing at all! Love that it WAS a small world.

Ah Peter Pan, that ride makes me smile. I MUST go through that queue in Feb!

Aw how cute are the boys in their Peter Pan costumes (Captain Hook looks good too :lmao:). Love that you met up with friends on IASW though like Janet I too caught myself singing so, emm, thanks for that :crazy2:
I'm taking my mum, daughter and youngest son to see PP in the Waterfront Hall this Christmas - can't wait :goodvibes

So glad to get caught up with everything here. Love your TR :thumbsup2

Another great opportunity that presented itself when I was given park tickets was the possibility of dining at Be Our Guest for lunch. I have read so many reports and seen so many pictures of how beautiful Beast’s Castle is inside. And there are some really interesting menu items, especially for a counter service dining spot.

But there was a problem. During my trip, they were testing Fast Pass Only for lunch. No walk-ups.

My MDE reservation was connected to Rebecca’s. She used the FP to get a lunch reservation for Sunday, and you can only have one BOG reservation FP at a time, so I was not able to book a lunch FP for BOG.

After Rebecca and Carol dined there on Sunday, they made a reservation for me, for 11 am Tuesday.

Have I mentioned previously that I have awesome friends???

The only glitch was that since there were 3 of us linked together on our the MDE account, they couldn’t reserve a spot for just me- it was for 3 people.

But I am a problem solver! The previous night at the “after-meet” at the Crews Cup, I mentioned that I had two extra spots for lunch at Be Our Guest and I invited Nettie and her son to join me. They accepted.

Before meeting up with them, I had a little Photopass session in front of Beast’s Castle.

One of the magic shots they did included animation!

This is where I made a couple of mistakes…

Based on past reviews I have read, the braised pork was probably my best bet. But I was still full from breakfast and it was so brutally hot that I decided to go for something lighter. I ordered the Tuna Nicoise Salad and the Tropical Fruit Cream Puff because I absolutely adore Passion Fruit.

I liked, but did not love, my meal. Most of this was my fault. Rare fish is not my favorite thing to eat, so I knew it was a risk getting this, but really, everything else sounded too heavy.

I was also slightly disappointed with my dessert. I am not crazy about cupcakes, so I stayed away from them, but I know I would have enjoyed the chocolate cupcake or the lemon merengue one, probably more than the cream puff.

Continued From Previous Post:

We were seated in the Rose Gallery which features a giant music box with a twirling Beast and Belle. I liked this room because it was light and airy- I don’t enjoy dining in places that are too dark.

After we ate, we explored the restaurant.

The Ballroom:

Then there is the West Wing, the Beast’s living quarters:

And finally, on the way out of the restaurant, we confirmed that the Emperor has no clothes. I mean, the Prince still does not have pants. Something like that.

FUN FACTS: There are 115 windows in the Beast's Castle.

The lion-like figures flanking the door at the entrance to Be Our Guest Restaurant were referred to as “golions” by the design team, a combination of goat and lion.

The centerpiece chandelier at Be Our Guest Restaurant measures more than 12 feet tall and 11 feet wide. It boasts more than 84 candles and more than 100 jewels that hang down to give it added shine.

At Be Our Guest Restaurant, the delicate Rose Gallery, adorned with rose accents, paintings and tapestries, is centered by a music box nearly 7 feet tall with a twirling Belle and the Beast.

This is kind of a neat thread with lots of pictures I found when I was trying to find info about the 3 rooms at BOG

Double pirates is not a bad thing, not a bad thing at all! Love that it WAS a small world.

Ah Peter Pan, that ride makes me smile. I MUST go through that queue in Feb!

No, Double Pirates is not a bad thing!

I probably would have been kicking myself for being too hot and lazy to go somewhere else (Haunted, Buzz) and actually riding Small World, but with my riding companions it was totally worth it!

Peter Pan really is a magical ride! I would like to try the new queue line- I think it still falls under the must ride first thing in the morning, though.

:goodvibes

Aw how cute are the boys in their Peter Pan costumes (Captain Hook looks good too :lmao:). Love that you met up with friends on IASW though like Janet I too caught myself singing so, emm, thanks for that :crazy2:
I'm taking my mum, daughter and youngest son to see PP in the Waterfront Hall this Christmas - can't wait :goodvibes

So glad to get caught up with everything here. Love your TR :thumbsup2

Good to see you back again! :wave2:

Oh thanks! The pictures are really special to me. And I absolutely adore the guy who played Captain Hook. He is incredibly talented and funny. He also has directed a couple off our shows.

Have fun at the show!

Small World was so much better with friends!

:banana::banana::banana:

What a fun update, Dee. I'm glad you were able to find someone to join you for lunch.

I love your PP pics, and the video is adorable.

Great pictures all around the Beast's Castle. I'm sorry you were not pleased with your meal.

We actually skipped our lunch reservation there (we were wanting to get back to Food & Wine).

Happy Thanksgiving if I don't get back here.

Haha that's my kind of problem solving... Become a hero by inviting others to an already booked meal. Love it!! :thumbsup2

Aww that animation Magic Shot is cute. I like how they continue to add stuff like that.

That's true especially for lunch that the Gallery is much brighter particularly more so than the West Wing. That said, the Gallery was still my least favourite in regards to theme. But then I really enjoyed the Ballroom (my one time I was there).

Yes, that Prince sure isn't bashful is he?

We've had dinner twice at BOG and lunch twice. Dinner has been great each time and lunch has been just meh. My middle daughter got the braised pork. She loved it, but I thought it was horribly salty. She will eat the salt off pretzels and through the pretzel out, for what that's worth. My son tried the croque monsieur. He liked the ham, and that was about it. But he's seven, so I'd take that review with a grain of salt.

We got magic shots at AK for the first time. They are really cute!

Thank you for this update. I really wanted to see the pictures before we dined there on December 1 for lunch. I think we're going to like it, especially that "Master's Cupcake"!

Katesdad

I had no idea this was a possible magic shot. And the animation is too cute! I totally want one of these.

So glad you got to eat at BOG for lunch. That salad looks delish.

You got some great pictures in the restaurant. Nice work. I totally want one of those cupcakes with the grey stuff.

Really fun factoids - thanks for sharing!

Happy Thanksgiving Friends!!!

I am thankful for all of the great friends I have found through our mutual love of Disney and travel.

:grouphug:

Dee - And another Happy Thanksgiving to you!

I am so glad you enjoyed your BOG lunch. The Rose room is our favorite as well. It is quiet, light and bright. Oh and I am totally a sucker for the Beast and Belle. I look forward to lunch there next Sunday!

Rebecca

Great update!

Love your shot with Lumiere, the animation is cute, but I like the still shot better.

And love the line about the prince not wearing pants. Why must so many disney characters run around pantsless? :)

Brilliant update Dee :thumbsup2
Saw that first photo of you and laughed out loud :rotfl2:
You just had the best craic on this trip and it shows in every photo :goodvibes
I actually cancelled the reservation I had for BOG on our last trip because the boys didn't fancy it but I would love to visit even if just for a bowl of soup. My problem is I'm always too hot for soup in Florida and I've heard really mixed reviews on the other menu items so it's still kinda on my to-do list but not top of it if you know what I mean ;)
You met so many people on this trip it makes it seem much longer than it really was! Kudos to you fitting so much in :worship:

I love having lunch at BOG and the Music Room is our favorite place to sit. :)

By your caption clue I and guessing that you finally got to go on the Mine ride. But what could the other clue be about? :confused3

I've been to BOG twice. Once for lunch a once for dinner. I definitely liked dinner better. I got that ham sandwich for lunch and it was gross. I got lamb chops for dinner I think. They were good. We sat in the same room as you the first time then in the middle ballroom the second. Looks like you were having a blast solo. DH and I are going down for a few days alone in Feb. I can't wait!!
