What Happens at the Beach Club... Travels with Teens, Take Two, (PTR) 4/6 p. 29

Doing replies before I am off to the Topsfield Fair. We are bringing the Sheep to Shawl and Before the Tractor programs on the road to elementary school students visiting the fair.

:drive:

That salad looks delicious! I love salads and could eat one every single day...especially Disney salads.

**Edited, you and I were posting at the same time so I missed the Test Track post. You designed a very cool car. I love Test Track. Nothing like zooming above Epcot in a car going nearly 65 miles per hour.

There are so many interesting salads at Disney restaurants but this is hands-down my favorite!

My car design was ok, it looks like I had plenty of time to do some additional customization, but I just wanted something that wouldn't break down in the middle of the ride!

:rotfl:

lol wish I knew you guys!! Totally sounds like something I would participate in with even more antics!!

:welcome:

We had such a great time together! Some of us have been friends for years, others we just met on the trip, and in most cases, this was the first time most of us met face to face.

Glad you have joined us as we relive the trip!

:goodvibes

They didn't make an announce, don't when we were there either. I thought I knew what to do, and scanned my band, but we ended up with the wrong car anyway.
I do love the car you designed! Especially the colour.

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

Huh! You would think that would be an important bit of information to give people. Otherwise, their work has all gone to waste.

I believe the car dealership lists that color as DISBoard Green.

:rotfl2:

Kinda like you car Dee. Let me know when it goes on sale please. :)

Still not an absolute must do for me, but I am liking new TT a bit more each time.

So, I hesitate to add this, but as you know, currently the FP at EPCOT are tiered and you have to choose between Soarin' and Test Track.

I kind of got Soarin'ed out at DL

I swear, every time we had some downtime at California Adventure, Nate would say "Let's do Soarin'". There would usually be just a short line,, 15-20 mintues, so we ended up doing it more than we ever have before in a trip.

Thus, it was Test Track my EPCOT visit!

:thumbsup2

I did that once! And since then, we've done it again and again! :goodvibes

That's hysterical! Bummer that you just missed Teena

YAY for a Sunken Treasure, boo for the firedrill but oh my, that may be the best DISmeet picture and story ever.

Not 100% but made a dent in getting caught up :goodvibes

:welcome:

Thanks for joining in!

Was it you that invited Mary Ellen or the other way around? Can't exactly remember. But didn't that work out beautifully!

I loved telling people that I was staying with a woman I met on the internet.

:lmao:

Of course, if Ninja had invited me to stay with her, I would have used my better judgment and refused. ;)

The antics started pretty early on with the bus stop greeting and the fire drill fun.

:cheer2:

Janetmom just posted her picture of the sign in the ME line in her report- it is better than the one I have from the text.

Thanks for reading!

:goodvibes

Love the animal selfies...and if I was at MCO and saw the wanted pics I would've been dying :rotfl2: I liked the old TT queue better, I didn't mind the new ride..helps the kids still LOVE it :thumbsup2 Great job getting pics..there's no way I could do it on TT :goodvibes

Nice Test Track hair styling. That ride is not for those who want to keep their hair in place.

I miss the overall theme of the old ride, but since I hated the old queue, I'm very happy with the new Test Track. I think designing the vehicle was good fun. I don't think they give you instructions on how to save your design, to your magic band, but the mickey silhouette comes up at different points and if you pay attention (which my husband did thankfully) you can see when to save. The challenge is that there is some much stuff to distract it is easy to miss the save point.

Thanks for another good update! Hope you have fun transforming the sheep to a shawl today.

Mark and I did Test Track because we ended up with an extra fast pass. I'm still not enthralled with the ride, but Mark enjoyed designing his car. And, now that you mention it, they made no announcements while we were there either about scanning your band (luckily I knew).

Nice design, Dee.

OOPS!!! Looks like I forgot you in the last set of replies- sorry about that!

Did you like the old one or are you just not a fan altogether. The race track part at the end is awesome, but neither the old or new inside part of the ride blows me away. Then again, I liked World of Motion.

:)

It was a very funny, creative thing for Ninja to do. As I said, with friends like these...

I just can't resist taking pictures on the ride, especially when I am alone and don't have someone next to me scowling, if you know what I mean!

:rotfl2:

Hair by General Motors! :lmao: (Are they still the sponsor? I lost "track")

The design phase is a nice addition, but not quite as great as the SpaceShip Earth build your future segment. THAT is pure genius!

Had a good day at the fair, but many no-shows. Hard to compete with fried dough and Robinson's racing pigs!

I really enjoyed TT and my youngest loved designing his "super fast truck" for us to race in :thumbsup2

I haven't checked this TR in a few weeks but am all caught up now! You and NM sure got a lot accomplished while at SAB. I hope no Sunken Treasures were harmed in the practicing! Those pictures are priceless!

Breakfast looks yummy as does your beet and cheese salad.

Adult WDW trips are almost more fun than family WDW trips (ssshhhh, don't tell my kids that). You get to do stuff you do t normally get to. Our kids used to love meeting characters but now they're too cool for that...and PhotoPass pictures. I'm shocked the photographers don't catch the eye rolling in their photos!

I think I'm the minority but I actually prefer the old Test Track. It took a while for the new TT to grow on me.

Glad your dad is ok. He sounds like a real character.....I see where you get it from!

Oh Wow wow wow!!!!!! I want that beet salad! It looks SO amazing? Was it? YUM!

Yay for TT. I love looking at pictures from outside the ride. It just looks so fun! What a fun day in Epcot so far!

I don't remember being offered any pretzel bread from Canada when I saw you later that night. Did you share it with your new training partner Janetmom?

Actually... ON FRIDAY night I shared the Prezel bread from the Biergarten in Germany with Mr. JanetMom!! There were pictures somewhere... we will have to see if they show up in JanetMom's trip report...

I may recall that happening. And there may be photo evidence to come...

I still haven't made it on to the new TT. Last time I went was back in 2010. My niece and I used the single rider line. Sad, really, since we were there in January and everything was pretty much walk on. I think I'd been beaten into submission by you not-quite two-year-old. All I wanted was a glass of wine and her not yelling at me. Spice Road Table might be one of my favorite places ever in Epcot for the simple reason that I got my wine and she was happily coloring and not screeching.

I love the Epcot Character spot! We have gotten some really good pictures from there and I also did the Visa Character meet the last time I was at Epcot. The only thing I didn't like about that is you never know what characters you'll get to take a picture with but it was free so I guess I really can't complain
Test Track is my favorite attraction at Epcot! The last time I was there was when it was closed for the extensive refurb. I gotta get back to Epcot!:thumbsup2

Dee every time it see Test Track pictures it reminds of the time that DD and I broke down on it. Going from 60 to 0 in about 3 feet was not fun especially since we were turned up on our side. Got evacuated from the ride after 15 minutes and got anytime fast passes plus we got put right back on the ride for those who wanted to try it again. DH was a car behind us and got stopped right before the outside area.

OOPS!!! Looks like I forgot you in the last set of replies- sorry about that!

No worries.

I liked World of Motion too. I just liked the old version a whole lot better. I don't like the whole design the car part.

I do like the design of the new Test Track. It reminds me of Tron, and I'm a huge Tron fan. I've just always been meh about Test Track in general, so I guess it didn't phase me much. :rotfl2:

Maelstrom. You were one of the last, huh? :(

Dee,
What a fun trip, can't wait to read more about your time with the group. All of the food pictures are making me hungry....

Once again, I am here with apologies for taking so long with replies.

The end of this week was rough.

As some of you saw on Facebook, the horse at the farm where I work died on Wednesday night. This was my post:

Our majestic and gentle horse Schooner passed away peacefully last night with Arleen and Bethany by his side. Like all of the animals at the SPL Farm, he was a rescue animal. We don't know his exact history or age, but we think he was in his late 20's or early 30's, a ripe old age for a horse. He brought a lot of joy to his caregivers, volunteers and countless children and his final years as an ambassador to the farm were good ones. I'll miss you Schooner!

You may know him from his previous appearance in "Selfie with Dee". He is wearing his secret identity fly mask in this shot.

Here are a couple more

This beautiful picture was taken by my coworker Jaimie.

Friday was my husband's 50th birthday. I was already dreading having to tell my preschool group and their families about Schooner, when I got an email from Mark around 7:15. He had caught his foot in a grate on the way to work and fell, scraping his face, hands and elbows. He told me he was "Bleeding pretty bad" and that he was going to come back home (a two hour commute)

Nothing was broken and there was no concussion, but he has been pretty sore all weekend and it is hard for him to eat because his lip is cut up inside and out.

I am tired of my loved ones meeting the pavement. And losing!

"Fifty is NOT nifty!"

:(

Glad you enjoyed the comments!

I think the vehicle design is a really nice addition to Test Track, especially for the kids.

:thumbsup2

Glad to have you back!

No Sunken Treasures were harmed in the making of those photos. Believe it or not, we were stone-cold sober!

Adult and/or solo trips definitely have a different focus. It was nice being able to do what I wanted to do!

My dad is doing ok. Now I am on to the next patient!

:sad2:

Oh Wow wow wow!!!!!! I want that beet salad! It looks SO amazing? Was it? YUM!

Yay for TT. I love looking at pictures from outside the ride. It just looks so fun! What a fun day in Epcot so far!

Yes, the beet salad was really good. Perhaps not quite as good as it had been in previous trips (kind of a recent theme at Disney), but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

That was probably the most pictures I have taken while on the outside course at Test Track.

:goodvibes

I love that review of Spice Road Table- they should totally use that in advertisements!

;)

It was fun meeting the characters!

Sorry you haven't been on TT in awhile. It was down for refurb when I was there with the teens in 2012, but we did get to check it out in 2013 on our family trip, and again this year.

:goodvibes

Oh no!!! That sounds horrible!

Was that the old version?

:)

I liked World of Motion too. I just liked the old version a whole lot better. I don't like the whole design the car part.

I can take or leave the car design part, but the boys really like it so that is good.

:thumbsup2

Wow- you guessed my clever extremely vague hint.

Dee,

:welcome: to this report!

We had a blast together on this trip.

Love dining at Disney and sharing the photos!

Oh Dee - So sorry to hear about Mark. Glad he made it home safely. You have had a rough time of it the past couple of weeks. Hugs to you.

Rebecca

Oh my Dee  sorry about Schooner :littleangel:

You really need to stop pushing around the men in your life..first your Dad, now your hubby...tripped and fell likely story ;) What a crappy birthday..glad he is okay just banged up. Dad gets better, and you get a new patient  Bubble wrap all around! :flower3:

So sorry about Schooner. You are a great person to work at a rescue...there should be more people like you!

I'm so sorry to hear about Schooner. I am sure that he will be missed by all of the workers there and the people who have visited him in the past.

Poor Mark! Of all things to happy when he turned 50! :scared:
