What Happens at the Beach Club... Travels with Teens, Take Two, (PTR) 4/6 p. 29

Since this was a very short (2 day) trip with limited time in the parks, it didn't make sense for me to purchase the Memory Maker. But I did get photopass pictures taken during my trip, with Disney cameras and my own. After the trip, I contacted one of the people who had been at our meet and she very generously added my pictures to her account.

Thank you!!!

Character Spot

Posted this one because it features one of Lisa's backsacks

Awww last year we got to watch the barges come out. It was really interesting and I enjoyed it! Pretty cool to see the bridge up!
Lovely pictures around the World Showcase, ahh I could look at those all day. Love it there.

Then Italy.

This happened!

CUTE!

Great photopass pics!!

Wow, in all my travels though World Showcase, I have only seen the globe come out once. It really is cool to see.

"This is not the Leaning Tower of Pisa. It must be the Leaning Photographer of the Beach Club." :rotfl2: Nice. It's artsy because it's tilted.

I agree, that is a beautiful spot in Japan. World Showcase is just fabulous.

"Posted this one because it features one of Lisa's backsacks" And also it's A HUG FROM MICKEY!!! And also a hug from the boss, aka Minnie. :thumbsup2

Ach Dee I am sitting here of a saturday night ( teenager in other room because God forbid you be in the same room as your mother on a saturday night, other half in bed feeling buggy:( and 7yr old sleeping) and I thoroughly enjoyed our stroll through the world. Love the photos and think it shows that 1) you are getting time to take photos and 2) you are a whizz with a camera no matter which one you use (big girl camera shots are very cool). Love the photo showing the backsack because your smile just says it all :lovestruc

Very nice pictures. I never remember to look for that hidden "thing" in Morocco. I hope someone comes along who knows where it is because I'd like to finally see it. ;)

First of all, I so sorry about Schooner and ow, poor DH falling like that. Very glad to hear it ended up just being sore and not more serious.

I can't believe you've not seen the barges coming in and out before. We must be there at the right time of day repeatedly, maybe it's happy hour lol, but I swear we see it every trip.

Dee, I'm a bit sad, you've never been to the store at the YC or Captains Grille? I get your BC loyalty but seriously you are missing out.

SAB synchronized what???? Tube team????

Dee....finally able to get on the DISboards after being back a week from our DCL/WDW trip. Just a quick note to say, as usual, I am enjoying your TR and the pics. I'll have to start my TR one day soon. Maybe I'll be able to keep current after I get caught up at work. Looking forward to more.

...I really hoped to get another dip in at Stormalong Bay to cool down before my planned evening activities, but I had a Plan B in place- if the heavens opened up, I would rush to The Land for the Behind the Seeds tour.

Dee, really enjoyed the stroll around the world. Question, is the "behind the seeds" tour something you can just walk up and sign up for? I thought it was one of those that needed an advance reservation.

Sent you a PM/email this morning.

I'm glad I got to see the globe and barges come out but there were SO MANY BARGES! I don't do the standing still thing very well, and to be stuck there in the blazing heat started to get old.

I had a nice time strolling the showcase and taking pictures.

Thanks for the kind words about the photo pass pix.

:goodvibes

Wonder if the globe comes out at the same time every day. This was right around 3 pm.

:tilt:

I love everything about the World Showcase. The scenery. The food. The drink. The entertainment. I don't get to spend as much time there as I would like, especially on family trips, so I enjoyed my solo excursion.

Oh, right. Hug from Mickey!::MickeyMo

Glad you could spend your solo Saturday night with my solo stroll.

My style for taking photos with the family is definitely suited to the point & shoot- I don't have time to stop like I need to for the shots with the DSLR.

Meeting the characters was fun!

:yay:

Well, you shouldn't be taking directions from me, since "I still haven't found...what I'm lookin' for"

But I think MEK said it is towards the back of the pavilion and you have to look toward the front.

Good luck on your scavenger hunt.

:thumbsup2

I think the reason I haven't seen the barges come out before is that we don't spend much time in the WS when we are with the boys.

To clarify- I have been to Captain's Grille, many times (once for breakfast, once for lunch and 3 times for dinner), but never to Yachtsman. I have not been to Fittings & Fairings gift shop in the YC, in fact I'm not sure I have been past the globe in the lobby. Not a matter of loyalty- just time. Plus I am not a shopper. I dislike shopping at home, and we never really do much souvenir shopping on vacation.

The real shame, of course, is that I (still) have not had a ice cream or a meal, other than breakfast, at Beaches & Cream. THAT is the dirty little not-so-secret.

Ah, the ill-fated SAB Synchronized Pool Tube Team.

We had team shirts made before our trip, and obviously, you have missed reading about our practice session.

Warning! These images can not bee unseen!

No Neater Greeter and Stormalong Bay Synchronized Pool Tube Team

I look forward to reading about your most recent trip and I remain grateful for the pictures you provided to me.

Katesdad

I got the impression that Behind the Seeds is a much more casual tour than some of the other ones. When I was having lunch at Sunshine Seasons, I went over to check out the times listed and it seemed like I would be able to join in if there was room on the tour.

:)

I've seen other reports with the barge coming in...cool that you got to see it.

Beautiful pictures around the World Showcase, Dee.

And I love the photopass pictures you got with the characters and on the bridge.

GREAT WS pics, love the leaning photographer comment Dee :rotfl: Swimming or Behind the seeds tour is a great plan...and we did Behind the seeds to get out of an afternoon storm in 2012 it was great!!!:flower3:

Love the latest pictures.

Japan and Morocco are two of my favourite pavilions. They are both beautiful. I'm always surprised at all the nooks and crannys once you enter Morocco.

And I love your character meet shots. You are just so cute with your excitement to hug the characters. :goodvibes

I find it very cool when I have to stop for the globe being moved in for Illuminations. That's so random, but I love it. :rotfl:

:lmao: The leaning photographer of the Beach Club.

You haven't found the hidden thing in Morocco? Act like you're heading back to Restaurant Marrakesh. It's around there. :rotfl2:

Seeing the globe float by was pretty cool. And then seeing the first 3 barges. But by the 100th barge or so, I was done! (OK, I exaggerate). But it was SO HOT!

Thanks!

I had fun taking the pictures and meeting the characters. But darn! I should have rolled my eyes and stuck out my tongue in one of the photopass pictures. To remind me of my family.

:lmao:

Who did the tour with you? That is one that kids can go on, I think. Not sure if there is an age limit. It would have been a good opportunity for me to do this tour. It has the advantage of being short, relatively inexpensive, there is a Disney Visa Discount.

But the swim won out that afternoon!

You are right- both Japan and Morocco are so pretty. Even without an "attraction" there, it is fun to spend time strolling around.

Thanks- it was fun (and a little awkward) meeting characters as an adult, but it did not phase Mickey, Minnie or Goofy at all.

:goodvibes

No, I still haven't found the hidden d*ckie! And the next opportunity I have to look, I will be in charge of 10-12 teenaged boys.

:scared1:

Even though it slows down the walk around World Showcase, I actually didn't mind the times that we got stopped by the Illuminations barges. It's pretty cool to watch them go by.

I'm thinking that you made a wise decision when you decided not to purchase the goodies in Germany. I bet that they wouldn't have withstood the heat.

I have never seen the guy on the itty bitty gondola in Italy. He's cute!

Awww, I like the Photopass pictures that you had taken. I know that you posted the one of you with the backsack 'cause it showed the backsack but I like it because of your big smile.

I did it with the AP discount with DH and it was like 30 bucks for both of us :goodvibes It was when DH and I went for a weekend I think it was August 2012 we got to do a ladybug release and feed the fish. I think taste cucumbers too :thumbsup2

It actually was great to experience the parade of barges. But it would be a lot more enjoyable in temps about 25 degrees cooler!

I don't usually complain about the heat in Disney/Florida in the summer. Maybe part of it was being solo and not having my family to distract me.

I didn't think that treats from Germany would stand a chance of surviving the trip across the rest of the WS.

The gondola guy was cute. He had a whistle that he was blowing.

You know I  my backsacks!!!

:goodvibes

Thanks for the info. I know I would love that tour. Someday.

Great photos with the characters and of the globe for Illuminations! I can't wait to see more! Did you ever get your swim??

Maybe part of it was that it was really freakin' hot that week!
