What happened to our book thread?

I have Honolulu in my to be read pile but I have read Moloka'i by Brennert and I LOVED it!!!

I will put Moloka'i on my list. It looked really good

Just finished the third book of the Three Sisters Island trilogy, by Nora Roberts. This one was Face the Fire. It was captivating and good, but witches are so not my cup of tea...nevertheless, all three books were enjoyable!

Next up, The Book Thief. I've heard so many good things, I hope I like it.

I'm reading Gone Girl right now. I can't wait to find out what happens! I wish I could stay home and read and I'm only about 20% into the book. I'm going to the lakehouse this weekend so I'll definately be reading a lot over the weekend. (One of my favorite things to do at the lake is to get a fresh cup of coffee and sit out on the porch reading in the mornings. It's heaven!)

the next 80 percent doesn't disappoint, takes all kind of wild turns. And the coffee on the porch has me jealous

I agree about this series. I usually like all of Nora Roberts' books but I just didn't care for this one as much as her others. Have you read her Boonsboro Inn books? They are very good! I'm waiting for the third one.


The Book Thief is one of my all time favorite books. You will love it!

We have a lake house as well and I know what you mean. It's a bit hot right now but in the fall, there is nothing better than reading a book out on the deck with a huge glass of iced tea. I even select specific books for fall reading. I just picked one up last night - 11/22/63. It's going to take a lot of will power to hold off on that one until October, though.

I can tell you what I'm NOT reading.... 50 Shades of Gray

Hold your advice on that. If I have one more person tell me that I HAVE TO read it, I promise you that I will jump off a bridge! In fact, that's one of the main reasons I'm not reading it (my inner rebel surfacing), haha!

Anyway...right now reading my favorite "summer book" author, Dennis Lehane. Reading Gone Baby Gone because I didn't see the movie. I don't usually read thrillers/mysteries, but I always love his stories for some reason.

Me too! I recommend it to everyone I know that is a reader. Several have said that is the best book they've ever read too. I am listening to the audio book version of it now.

OK, I rarely diverge from my beloved mystery/thriller genre, but you all have me intrigued with The Book Thief. I just might have to break down and get that one.

Another non-mystery on my to-read list is 'The curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime'. My DD recommended it to me as it's told from the point of view of an autistic boy. It sounds very interesting - I'm fascinated with anything to do with autism/asperger's.

It's the first audio book I've listened to so the whole experience is new. But I do like it. I much prefer actually reading it though. If you go to audible.com you can hear a sample of the narrator's voice.

The odd thing is, even though I would never had picked up this trilogy had I known it was about witches, but I found myself liking it. I kind of surprised myself actually. No I haven't read the Boonsboro series, I have the Stanaslskis series lined up, ready to go on my Nook. I actually jist started reading Nora Roberts books, so it should be fun.

Last night I started The Book Thief, was worried I wouldn't like it at first, the beginning was hard to get thru, but now it's more like a good story that I can't put down, I'm glad I didn't give up.

Waiting for the latest Karin Slaughter or Lisa Gardner books to come out.
I just started reading Water Children a couple days ago and its pretty good, but not real exciting. I'm taking a few recommendations from this thread and putting a hold on them at the library.
I have read The Help & book one of The Hunger Games. Hunger Games was ok but not enough to rush into the rest of the trilogy. Same with The Maze Runner.

The name sounds very familiar but when I checked her website just now the books didn't sound familiar. But they looked good so will definetly check those out. Of course tho I have been known to check a book out from the library & realize a few pages later that I have already read it, lol.

Yes, I love those books, wish she would churn out another one soon, lol. I just read the Outlander series tho, not the others about Lord John Grey.
