The bottom line on this is that it is the bottom line......$$$$$$$
It's everywhere, more and more functional alcoholics.
OP, I agree. I don't like being in World Showcase after a certain time anymore, especially if my kids are with us. I imagine the heat and humidity and dehydration doesn't help either.
Unfortunately, like many things in life, something bad will probably have to happen before they step up and change things.
This is just another example of a societal problem. It's everywhere, more and more functional alcoholics. People, did you know that it's possible to have fun without alcohol?
I agree. Hard to be functional if drunk.Apparently, you and I have different meanings for that word...
Haven't you read the "Worst advice you got" thread?
From reading it, the situation appears that nobody should follow the advice given on this board, anyway,
so that can't be it.
We didn't see any overly drunk people for SWW ourselves. BUT I will say that Disney put up a hard booze mixing stand about every 40 ft advertising Alderaan Sunrises and Tattoine This or That with a light up Millennium Falcon on the cup for $13.50 a pop. All these lit up red, blue and green drinks were walking around everywhere. It was the most prominent hard liquor sales tactic I have seen, probably because they knew they were getting more the Comicon crowd. It was obvious they were looking to sell as much booze as they could. I realize it's not EP, but it does appear to be a Disney trend. Big sales!
It should never be all about the money several other things should factor in. However this group of people currently running Disney world seem oblivious to the little things that Disney did in the past that separated them from everyone else. I agree with you plano it will really get interesting when you put a frozen attraction, which is primarily a younger kid draw into the middle of where the drink around the tour goes on!I don't think that everyone who overindulges once is an alcoholic. Sometimes you are just having fun and go beyond your limits. Some people have pretty low limits too.
I do agree that this is all about money but then isn't it always?

And here's hoping we're beyond the days of "everything Disney does is wonderful, and if you don't like it, you're doing it wrong."At least we're beyond the days where there were tons of posts where the only advice given for any subject was sign up for tour guide mike.

'Hic'
I dont know that I agree with you or if you are channeling HS about the closures, but I will support your comment as far as when they (sorry gang soap box time) TURNED NORWAY INTO A FANTASY ELSA AND WHOEVER MEET AND GREET, (off soap box now) they did lower the whole theme of the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow into meh'ville. There is less to do at Epcot than there was a decade ago. Lots of empty closed buildings.
I was at Epcot in June and I heard a lot of people talking about drinking around the world. The park was only open until 9 that night, so I didn't see any really noticeable bad behavior. One thing I did notice was a lot of security wandering around. I myself had two drinks and I was done for the night. I don't see how anyone could make it around that entire loop in the heat. I heard one group talking about "training for drinking around the world", now there's a goal worthy of striving for!![]()
