What Happened To Bawb?

I am relatively new here and I just watched the memorial about Bawb when I logged on. It was very touching. I didn't know Bawb, but it looks like he was a wonderful man and friend. I hope you don't mind that I ask....What happened to Bawb? I seems like such a tragedy! So sad!
