I would like to get a couple of those huge taffy apples and maybe some marshmallows on a stick at Disney before we leave for the airport but will I be able to get them through security? I don't want to pay all that money just to have them confiscated by the TSA.:confused3

The items you have to worry about is liquids, gels, creams, pastes and aerosols. These are examples of food items that cannot go over 3.4 oz. A jar of peanut butter or nutella, yogurt, jelly, jam, homemade sauces, soup, chilli, applesauce, cheese in a can, salsa. There are probably more items that i cannot think of right now. So the items you mentioned should be good to go.

Any food can go through, as long as its not a liquid or gel. A long as it would hold its shape outside of a container, it's good. We've taken just about every snack back in our carry-ons at some point!

Basically if you spread it with a knife or it jiggles, the TSA considers it a paste/liquid.

If it's solid, you're good to go.
