What else to say to the characters???

To the person who asked about making the character picture cards:

It is SOOOO easy. You just find clip art on the internet that you like and save them to a folder on your hard drive. Then insert the pic into WORD checking the margins to get it centered on a 4x6 card the way you want it and and print them out.

Since my post way back on page 5 before our last trip, wanted to throw in a couple of things we got a kick out of in December.

1. The picture I printed of Captain Hook is him in tatters balanced over the mouth of the Tick Tock Croc. When he saw it he was about to faint from embarrassment. He covered his face, shook his head, and did the pose like the picture. Mr. Smee LOVED it and was cracking up. Mr. Smee had to cover the picture before Captain Hook would sign. Then Mr. Smee discovered we had a card for him, too. He was thrilled and showed everyone. Capt. Hook was still smarting from the unflattering picture, so he pointed out that Mr. Smee's gut was hanging over his pants in his pic. Mr. Smee made jogging motions to indicate he had worked out a lot since then.

2. Had a pic of Brer Rabbit layed out with his eyes crossed and he got embarrassed and had to show it to his handler before signing, shaking his head and covering his face.

3. Took a couple of tries but we got a pic of DH and kids in mid air bouncing with Tigger. Tigger wanted to see the digital screen before we left to see everyone mid-bounce. He was very excited.

4. This was from the trip before last but DS could not get close to the Queen of Hearts with his hat on. She kept knocking it off. The picture of him with her had him very irritated with his hat hair, very funny.

When we had breakfast at CRT, my DD(then 5) had trouble getting over her awe enough to talk to the princesses. When Cinderella came by, I really thought she wasn't going to be able to speak. We had gotten autographs and pictures and Cinderella was about to walk away when my daughter said, "Excuse me," (yes! the continuous lessons in manners are working a bit ;) ) "I have all of your movies".

My hubby and I started laughing, but our Cinderella was wonderful. She immediately said thank you, then asked which was DD's favorite. When my daughter answered Cinderella 2, they then spent several minutes discussing Cinderella's wedding (the focus of that movie). It was wonderful, and something my daughter still talks about.

During the MGM parade, my DS and I "boo'd" Darth Vadar. The rest of our family thought I was NUTS!!! We weren't really that loud, but we did the "thumbs down" to him.

Well, he VERY angrily marched right over to us and did a hands on the hips pose just a couple of feet in front of us. I thought my DS8 was going to get up and run away!!!! :) I got a great picture of it and in the picture you can see his light saber. My DS just LOVES the picture because of that.

Several years ago, we had just figured out how the autograph "thing" works and we ran into a whole bunch of Characters in Epcot. We basically had them to ourselves. They were all great (DH had no idea who Esmeralda was and she proceeded to tell him - for about 5 minutes - he had to promise to watch her movie).

Well, we were set on getting all the characters autographs for our DS, who was being quite shy. Jafar was standing all by himself and I sent just DH over to get the autograph. Jafar "snatched" the book from DH and signed it quite angrily as if he had better things to be doing. My DH came back and said "boy, that guy was rude. He acted like I was forcing him to do something. Are you sure it was ok to get his autograph?" :rotfl2: I burst out laughing and had to explain that he was a "bad guy" from Alladin and he was just "in character". Luckily, DH then understood and we all got a good laugh out of it.

For at least two years, my DS did not go anywhere without his cowboy hat (Woody). Usually he had Woody in one hand and Buzz in the other. Anyway, Woody made a big deal over the cowboy hat and Buzz tried to tell my DS that his wings/uniform was better than that old cowboy hat. It was hilarious!! On that same trip, Genie took the cowboy hat and put it on his head and wouldn't give it back.

Several years ago when my niece was small, she asked Chip during the character breakfast at the Polynesian, if he would go to the park with her. He nodded, took her hand and led her out of the restaurant. One of the CM's stopped him saying that he had work to finish before he could go play. He acted all mad and tried to argue with the CM. It was really funny.

Also, while waiting for our reservation at LeCellier, Coda (Brother Bear) was walking around going thru everyone's bags looking for food. He found french fries in one bag and went crazy. He also went thru the garbage cans etc... It was a lot of fun.

2001 in DisneyLand, I was not that much of a Disney nut, but my girlfriend loved everything D and wanted me to interact with Mickey. Honestly, she talked about him so much I was kinda jealous :o . Anyway, we get up to the Picture Opportunity, which is in front of M’s house in ToonSquare, and I put my hand out to greet Mickey, he grabs my hand, does a great Multiple-Move- Shake and points to his handler. The handler leans over and tells me I just received the secret shake. I was so amused, and I just kept talking about the secrete-shake the rest of the trip. We have since been back to DL twice and three times WDW, and every trip I make it a point to ask for the secret shake, and every time Mickey gets it right. Last year we took my 9 yr old niece to WDW with us. She had heard about the secret shake and thought I was just making it up, well, at Chef Mickey's for breakfast, Mickey comes to our table where she gets up and proceeds to tell Mickey (very loudly, getting everyone’s attention) about how I am just foolish talking about a secret shake……….Mickey waives for me to get up and does the handshake with overwhelming enthusiasm, points at him …then at me, and drapes his hands over my shoulders in a Buddy like stance. It was great seeing her face. After her interaction with Mickey, she comes to the table and says, ‘WOW you really do know Mickey Mouse” :hyper: . It was great. Ror the rest of the trip I was drilled with questions about the Secret Shake and My Intimate Knowledge of Mickey Mouse . Not to mention she made it a point to tell everyone that we meet that I Knew Mickey Mouse personally……….I get Smilies just thinking about it….

We were at LTT when Meeko came up behind my dad (this is his dd typing this) and tapped his shoulder. He turned his head, but Meeko had already jumped toward his other shoulder. This repeated several times, until dad finally found Meeko. The rest of us where almost rolling over laughing. It was hilarious!

just read through all of this and some of them are really good. :rotfl: Deffinitly going to be using them when I'm off at the world tomorrow :teeth:

:cool1:
I'm planning another WDW trip - and this time I was able to get ressies for breakfast at Cindy's. I'll be with my DS (6) and we love intereacting w/the characters. I want to make this breakfast "fun" for him, because to be honest I was surprised that he agreed to a "girly" character meal - so I thought if we had things to say to the princesses it would be my thank you for going to the "girly" meal :earsboy:

Any ideas?

For those going to MNSSHP if you arrive before 6pm and hang out in tomorrow land you will have plenty of time to interact w/ the characters.
There's a lot of them wandering around entertaining those waiting for the party to start - in fact, we got Mickey and Minnie together last yr.
My DS and I did this last yr and that's when we got hooked on "playing" w/them. Now every time we go he asks "what are we going to ask......(so and so)"
I've created a character junkie (and love it  )!!!!

Have fun!!!!
Patty

Thanks for the tip on MNSSHP! We're going this year and are sooooo excited :maleficen it's DD's favorite holiday. We'll definitely have to go early and go to Tomorrowland. Are they in their costumes at that time, do you know?

At MNSSHP from 6-7pm when they keep everyone is tomorrowland the characters that are out were NOT in costume last yr - we had: Mickey, Minnie (together; which I rarely see - they are usually separate lines for each of them), Goofy, Cinderella's mice (forgive me I can't remember their names), Donald, Pluto, Mad Hatter, Buzz, Pooh and a few others.

This is when I asked Minnie is she had gotten a ring from Mickey yet - boy that went on for several minutes...it was awesome!

We found Chip and Dale and called them squirrels....when you do duck for cover :)

This yr I'm hoping to get my DS to go up to the "villians" - that's my mission for our next trip! :maleficen :maleficen :maleficen

And enjoy our breakfast with Cindy :wizard: princess:

Have fun
Patty

That's a lot of characters out - we'll have to make sure we wander that way! Are the villians out then too?

Usually when I see the villians at MNSSHP, they're doing sets in front of the castle.

We created our own autograph books, and my daughter and I really fancied up our pages. On my Minnie page, I put heart stickers and stickers of both Minnie and Mickey. Well she was just the cutest thing. She kissed Mickey's picture and drew a heart around it.

It was cute. Even to DD15.

Meeko was also facinated with DD's page for his signature. He hugged her and showed everyone around his picture in her book.

My dd (3yo) said these things to some of the characters. All brought lively "conversation". She asked Alladin and Jasmine where Abu was. They asked her to look for him around the park. She spent the whole day calling him.

When she met Woody, she asked him where Bullseye was. He acted as if he were riding around a stable.

She sang the "Scuttle version" of a love song to Ariel.

She became upset when Donald Duck wouldn't "say anything", so he made a "spitting" sound. Two months later, she still tells everyone about it.

This is hialrious I have really enjoyed reading this thread :teeth:

Where can I hope to find Eyeore without doing a character breakfast? My about to be 40 year old DH thinks Eyeore is IT ! I hadn't planned on going to MGM so I'm hoping Eyeore is somewhere in MK.

hmm I would try in the tootown Hall of Fame.. They usually have a Pooh bear and friends area. Our last trip we saw Pooh, Tigger and Eeyore there.

I seem to always run into Baloo, and some of the Bears from County Bear Jamboree...

What can I say to stir up some interaction?

We've run into Baloo with a few other charachters all by his lonesome in Adventureland at night. HE LOVES TO DANCE! Try singing bare necessities and see if you can get him to boogaloo. He picked up my then three year old daugher and swirled her around and danced with her for several minutes. I have pics of it and it was such an experience...one of the most memorable interactions we've ever had!
