What DON'T you like about FP+?

From what I understand, it's not too much different than the current system, you just schedule them online in advance. I can see where some find a problem in park hopping, but if you prepare a schedule a head of time, you should know where you'll be. I can see where some people complain about only getting three, but in the grand scheme of things, it's still better than no Fastpass at all...... So I don't get it, why all the hate?

FP+ is much better for us than FP- was. However, there are some things I don't like.

1) Don't like that you can't spread out your FPs to multiple parks. It makes hopping less appealing, and harder to do.(still just the 3).

2) Don't like the tiers.

3) Don't like that it randomly picks times for you, and the website just doesn't flow right. It shouldn't take me as long as it does to book the FPs, then change all the times to times I like better than the randomly selected ones.

1. I don't like being limited to 3.
2. I don't like that I can't get more than 1 set for a particular ride.
3. I really really really don't like the tiers. I mean, seriously, Test Track and Soarin are the only 2 rides in EP that even need a FP and you can only get 1???

I also think 60 days out is ridiculous (particularly with preschoolers that we can't predict...) but if the above issues weren't there, I could deal.

I dont like all the planning. We like to go with the flow. We dont plan sit down meals 3 months in advance, let alone a ride. I want it to feel like a vacation when i am at Disney, not a job.

The main problem for me is that we do not decide that far out where we will be each day. My trips are often booked VERY last minute, so the fact that options are already gone at that point just adds to the problem.
We are going in about 4 weeks, and I still don't know what park we will be in each day. And even if I did know, if there is rain that could change....if someone gets sick on any given day, that could change (or at least change what hours we are in that park). I can not know a month in advance that I will not have a health issue that alters my schedule on any given day.
Also we are meeting up with a CM friend, she would not be able to do what we plan, if we were indeed going with a FP+ plan.

Then of course there is the limit and tiering. But honestly that bothers me much less than the fact that I can not just decide where we're going and what we're doing on a day to day basis with this system.

Amen!!!

1. Based on the way we have toured in the past, 3 isn't enough and 1 of the Tier 1 rides certainly isn't enough. We didn't use FP (largely because we didn't need them) for some rides but would use FP multiple times throughout the day for other rides (for example, Big Thunder or Space Mountain).

2. Theoretically (haven't tried it yet but will this spring) I REALLY dislike having to plan each park/ride in advance. We usually plan out the first half of our trip (and all ADRs) in advance but sort of go with the flow after that. We might have plans to go to AK one day but decide the day before that half the crew wants to go to DHS or MK instead. With FP+ you'll have to try to reschedule your reservations.

(1) I don't know two months or even one day ahead if my kids will be willing and able to ride a coaster or even Test Track.

(2) Weather, illness, moods...so many reasons to need flexible plans. I have been to MK when it was 40 degrees and two days later when it was 80 degrees. Glad I got to FP Splash on the second day.

(3) We like to ride things twice in the same day. We might want two FP for Peter Pan, two for Jungle Cruise, and leave the mountains to everyone else.

(4) Three FP is fine for every park except MK, where it's ridiculously limiting for anyone who arrives early and spends all day or travels during a moderately slow time. I don't think I've been to MK in the past decade and not used more than three per day.

(5) We have extended family living in Florida who usually join us for a day or two and ride headliners with us. Can't wait to tell them I need to know their exact plans two months ahead.

(6) Flexibility is decreasing even more with tiers. It becomes an even bigger headache to make FP+ plans for multiple people who have different interests.

(7) Because of the lack of information and constantly changing "tests," I do not know what rules might apply to which guests at any given date in the future.

(8) At this moment in the "test," guests are not on equal footing based on where they are staying and no one know when this will stabilize.

(9) I enjoyed the system under which the "early bird gets the worm." Yes, because it was best for my family, but also because anyone could take advantage with a little work and an alarm clock.

(10) I don't trust this technology to not fail me at the most inconvenient time. I don't want my MB to not work or my FP+ reservations to disappear, and I don't want to spend hours online and with IT support making my FP+ reservations.

This post sums it up, but we also like spontaneity in our vacations, so the 60 days in advance thing is actually #1 on our list. We are going in January for a week around the marathon (we are both runners). We still have not booked our FP+ for the trip as we have no idea where we want to be on each day. If my wife ends up hating this trip, it could spell the end of WDW vacations for my family as she doesn't care for it to begin with.

If I have to tell you....you obviously don't understand.

I don't see anything yet to suggest that you're going to have to plan 60 days in advance. I leave in 14 days, and every attraction I have checked has almost every hour of the day still available. I still haven't booked all mine.

I like the IDEA of FP+ and the ability to book them via smartphone and/or computer and not have to run around the parks to obtain them. In theory its GREAT!

I do NOT like the tiering that has been put into place and the inability to park-hop. Of course the 3 FP+ limit is ridiculous, too. However, I would be more open to it if there were no tiering involved.

I also find it to be quite silly that you MUST chose 3 even if one is unwanted. For example, with Epcot! As PP stated, the only 2 rides that really need a FP are Soarin' and TT. With those two being in Tier 1, I really only want a FP+ for MS (even though it usually is never needed to begin with). That leaves me with one extra FP that I must choose a ride for, even if I do not plan to ride it. I can understand giving us a limit (although I hope at some point it goes a little higher than 3, at least for on-site guests) but you shouldn't HAVE to use them all if not needed/wanted.

I like the tiered system much better because in October, when virtually all WDW resorts were in the FP+ system, regular FPs ran out within an hour of park opening. At least half of all park visitors do not stay at WDW resorts and they were shut out of the system and getting angry. Everyone is paying the same to enter the park (more or less) and the majority were getting less value, especially at Epcot and Hollywood Studios where there are really only 3 attractions that everyone wanted to FP+. I'm an annual passholder who lives in Florida and it is looking more and more like we APers will never get added to the advance reservation FP+ system. The tiered system at least gives a chance to FP at least one good ride a visit. Since the tiered system started at Epcot, Test Track and Soarin' FPs have been lasting to early afternoon.

I won't say I don't like the idea of a limit of 3 FP+, because I understand why that has to happen.

However, I don't like how once they are used up, you are done. If they could set up a system, where if you ARRIVE at all your FP+s, you get another FP+ until you miss one. That would make sure people actually GO to their FP+ appointments and aren't just making phantom selections.

I would even be more for everyone getting to schedule ONE FP+ ahead of time. If you make it to that one, you can schedule another, and so on.

And the problem I see in the immediate future, since resorts are starting to no longer hand out KTTW cards, is that on-site guests are being forced into the FP+ rules (tiers, 3 per day, etc) while off site guests are free to use the FP- rules and get FP for both TT and Soarin. I'm glad I'm paying so much to stay on-site.

It is a simple math problem - when the only access to FP is through FP+, and everyone sees them running out sooner and sooner, the mad dash to book ASAP will begin. This will happen - it is not a guess. For evidence, you need look no further than the current ADR system.

What I don't like is trying to think about which attractions I may want a FP for so far ahead of time.

I don't like the tiering or the awful web interface. I also don't think 3 is enough, at MK especially. The planning aspect is fine by me, personally.

OMG...you are still arguing the present state? Haven't you gotten bored of that argument yet?

That's like saying when the concept of ADRs were first introduced you could pick your restaurant and time two weeks before your trip. Now, you have to book BOG at 180 days or get lucky on a cancellation.

If FP+ becomes the only FP system for everybody at some point (onsite and offsite) all those who are planning trips for peak seasons will be logging onto the sysem at the exact moment it opens up for their trip, praying to get MineTrain.

Is that not something we can agree on here?
