For us it means:

Going to WDW is our ultimate family time. It's our time to escape from reality and just be ourselves without anyones judgement. It's our time to be without any cares in the world. It's our time that we make special memories that are etched into our minds and hearts forever. It's so special that somtimes finding words to explain it are hard.

Since I know some of you share the same feelings, I would like to hear them. Tell me yours!

Our time away from it all. Its our time, to make memories that we can cherish the rest of our lives:wave:

As my 10 y/o dd says..."We're going home Mom, we're going home." This is where our hearts live.

i second all the thoughts here so far and want to specify that the time we spend at WDW is best when it is just us. (me, DH and DS - and soon to be DD) We have shared time there with family and friends, but we agree that we get the most out of it and feel more magic when it is just us.

We come away feeling renewed and closer as a family.

It's a place to be with family and friends w/o any worries. It's something we look forward to everyday. It's the one place everyone gets along. It's a place of magical memories that we will treasure for the rest of out lives. It's a place where you can just sit and just count all the happy people who have made the trip. It's a place that will cheer us up whenever we think about it. To us, It's Home!!!

I find WDW to be a very comfortable place. If you get what I mean. To me there are no hangups. You can literally feel the love there.

For us its just about hanging out together and having a great time. Its always been important to me to do things together so when they grow up they will have lots of great family memories and will then do the same thing with their families once they are married.

:D It means we have to eat spaghetti and macaroni and cheeese for a year...LOL:D

which is hard to come by these days. I feel more secure there for vacation then I would in other places; although, some may disagree with this.

I like to be immersed in the land of the make believe; especially since, I grew up on Mickey, etc. I like experiencing all things Disney World and we keep coming back at different times to see the special events. To date, I still need to experience the Night of Joy event and Soap Opera weekend but I'll get there one of these times for it.

Also, I like having amassed the knowledge that I have about all things Disney. I feel like I could be a tour guide for them, now. It makes the experience more fun for me because I can help family and friends with their trip plans and it makes my trips less stressful because I know the ropes, perse.

For us, the most important meaning to come out of a trip to Disney World is the chance for us to reconnect. With 3 kids and 2 full time working parents, it is so hard to get good opportunities to just play with each other.

Disney allows us to all be the same age. It opens our eyes, our ears, and our hearts. We never have to leave Disney property, we don't have to drive for a week, and someone else does the cooking. Where else can I not feel guilty for eating 2 Mickey Ice Cream bars in one day?

Like a previous poster said--we feel extremely safe and have not a care in the world when we're there!

Hakuna Matata!

This is our time to relax together (we never tour COMMANDO style). We take other vacations, but none as relaxing as our time at Disney. I think it is because we have been before, and we have seen most everything. We know what we want to do and just enjoy the walk to do it. The kids get a chance to be "in charge" and tell us what they want to do and we do it.

There is no place like it on Earth.

"Disney allows us to all be the same age". That is simply outstanding!! The five of us together as a family, away from it all. No worries and no cares.

Mommy and Daddy get to be kids again.............

I loved the fact that 13 year old DD and I didn't have any arguments the whole time we were there! She was on her best behavior and since we're on vacation, we indulge her whims (ice cream for lunch? GREAT idea!) Plus, I don't have to nag about a single thing--no homework, no chores. It's a great break for all of us and we have the best time!

Going to WDW means to me that I get to give my kids the great vacation expirences I got when I was a child. Growing up we always went the same week every year and always stayed in the "cabins" (although they weren't called cabins back then).

I remember how most thought I was so lucky to go to WDW every year and I want to give that joy to my kids. I love to see WDW as an adult and enjoy as such but also to see it and enjoy it through the eyes of my kids!

Most people don't understand why we go back year after year to DisneyWorld. They keep asking us why we don't pick someplace else we haven't been. My answer is that it is the best family vacation destination anywhere. Everyone gets to do something they really like. Great themed resorts, wonderful dining selections. We all re-connect during our WDW vacations and it is something the kids talk about throughout the year to their friends. We probably wouldn't be going as often if we hadn't bought into DVC.

No Stress, no driving, no worries! I've been going to WDW since the Thanksgiving after it opened - and now I've turned my DH into a Disney freak and raised my DD as one. Our family vacations are always great - but WDW is just special because there is something for everyone and as DD says - we never have a cross word when we're at WDW! This year is going to be especially meaningful since she just graduated last Friday from high school and will be starting college at Georgia Southern in August! How can you feel so happy and proud - and so depressed - all at the same time????:( :D :( :D

Gosh, how do you even begin to describe it?

I guess to me it means Disney quality. :earsgirl:

It's the one place I know of where I can count on the details being thought out, my happiness being important, extra things are done "just because", and I can honestly say that every penny I spent was worth it.

Nobody does it like Disney!::yes::

(my response here does not even begin to explain how special Disney is to me, but then I guess everyone here knows that feeling)princess:

It means a lot to me, because my family used to frequent the parks mainly for special occasions...birthdays, Christmas, graduations. The last time we went as a family was before my father passed away. However, my family is grown in a few different ways, and we went to the MK about 3 weekends ago.

MK will always be special and magical to me. Maddy loves going there no matter how many times in a month we go :)
