One year we had a guide for the parks but she just kinda walked us around. We did get on some of the rides ahead of people but my little sister was also in a wheelchair at the time so I am not sure if that was why. I guess I was just unsure of what the guide was supposed to be doing. My dad got her and she did not tell us anything about Disney....

Hiring a guide at WDW does not get you ahead of others in line, at least they do not offer that service to the public. I expect that your family used an alternate entrance for some rides to assist your wheelchair-bound sister. Not all alternate entrances are faster than the regular lne, some have even reported having to wait much longer when using an alternate entrance.

You described exactly what a guide at WDW does - shows you around, gives yoou ideas about what to see, and when.

Just curious, was the guide hired from Disney or was she a guide that specializes in Disney but not employed by Disney? We've never used a guide at Disney but we did hire a VIP tour at Universal one year and it was awesome. We did 8 hours and managed to get on a ton of rides without waiting in line. We also got a lot of fun info.
