I just went to our website and picked the basic list and I have to say.... it isnt as bad as I thought it would be.
Of course this is not class specific  and Im sure there will be additional things needed for his program but so far so good and I have everything he needs!

Kaylee (Kindergarten) has everything included for a $30 fee

But here is Cam's list:

36(!) Glue Sticks - narrow
5 Glue sticks wide
3 boxes of 64 crayons
1 set wide markers
1 set narrow markers

Small dry erase board
3/4" scotch tape refill

1/4" graph paper
Loose leaf paper -- College ruled
Computer paper

Then there's the stuff I'm "recycling" from last year

1 box colored pencils

Clear roll of contact paper...????? Haven't found it yet! Target didn't have it.

In line in front of me in Target was a lady with her school supplies and her daughter. She must have had 30 or more boxes of crayons. Now you have 36 glue sticks! Are they assigning parents things to buy for the entire class?

I think the supplies go to the central location and I belive K's use LOTS of glue - but 36 + 5 = 41 sticks. WOW!! I hope they don't eat it! We were told not to put our names on any supplies.

$450 was huge - I can see it for older kids with real books...but K? I'm sure I'm subsidizing older grades - but hopefully this will continue when DS gets older.

Way too much! My Kindergartener doesn't need very much, but the secondgrader has a big long list.

I wish my kids got lists. It would make life a lot easier!

DD will be going into 10th and DS is going into 6th and the only thing I'm getting before school starts are those fabric book covers, pens, & pencils. I don't know what they'll need as far as notebooks go . . .so we'll have to wait until the first day of school to find out.
