I have a trip planned for 10/15-10/23. We will be staying offsite 10/15-10/18, on 10/18 we will check in at WDW through 10/23. I know that the hours for the parks aren't posted yet but i was wondering if anyone can remember what they were like last year. My mom and mil will be joining us at the parks on 10/16 & 10/17, I wanted to get the most out of the two days for them, but I am not sure what the hours at Mk are like. Here is my proposed schedule.
10/16 Sat- begin at Epcot
3:00 Ice cream social
go to Mk after, and stay till parade (if there's Spectro that night)
depending on what time Mk closes, go back and see Illuminations at Epcot.
10/17 Animal Kingdom, most of day
5:30 LTT ps
7:00 MNSSHP

Do you think that this is doable??

Any ideas about the times or schedule
Thanks
Kim

I don't know what the hours will be, but MK may not be open late in October. If you do the Ice Cream Social at Epcot at 3:00 pm, you probably won't get to MK until about 4:30. If the park is only open until 8:00 pm you'll only have 3 1/2 hours. (4 1/2 if open until 9:00). You'll have to decide if that's enough time.

I wouldn't go from Epcot to MK and back to Epcot in one day. That's too much time spent traveling. Since you are going to MK the next day for MNSSHP, I would simply try to get to MK a little earlier on 10/17 and not go on 10/16. On 10/16 I'd either stay at Epcot for Illuminations or hop over to MGM for Fantasmic. I'm assuming you have park hoppers, correct?

Unfortunately, you're trying to squeeze in as much as possible in 2 days to accomodate DM and DMIL. It's going to be tough. They have to understand that they will miss a lot and there is nothing that can be done about this. Perhaps you can ask them what 2-3 things are must do's for them and work around that. Maybe they just want to go to MK one day and MGM the next, and won't mind missing Epcot and AK this trip.

Good luck.

Well, thanks for the advice, Mil has never been to any parks other than the Mk, so I though she may like Epcot, and mom, and us just came back from 6 days at WDW in March, so none of us really care which parks, my mom did say she wanted to go back to the Ak, because last time we didn't get to do Kali River Rapids. Maybe we will do Epcot, then MGM, and Sun Ak and Mk, at least them Mil will have seen some of each. I would just die if I only had 2 days in WDW.

Does anyone know what time the fantasmic show is?? and Does MGM close while the show is going on?

Maybe you could just do Kali River Rapids at AK and 1-2 other "must sees" right at opening instead of most of the day there?

Well guys, I went above and beyond the boards, and I asked my kids, and dd, and ds both agree that we will go to Epcot, half the day, then go to Mk, and next day go to Ak, and do MNSSHP after that. I guess the kids have spoken, Now my only problem is waiting to find out how late Mk will be open on that Sat.

I went to MNSSHP last year on a thursday, around the same day you are going. We came off a 4 day cruise, then to disney. We didn't arrive to MNSSHP until after 7 - I think 7:15. It was mobbed. I would try to get there in the afternoon, right before MK closes and they let people with MNSSHP tickets stay in, have dinner, it is a great time.

Don't waste your time waiting in lines for candy - but the picture was awesome. I don't remember waiting in line too long for that - they took it at the old Alien location. You get it in the mail about 2 weeks later. Used it for a Halloween card. The parade is great. The ride of the headless horseman right before the parade was awesome. The fireworks were great also. My DH and DS were both pirates, so there was a lot of Arggghhhh - ing going on with other pirates - very funny. It's amazing how they tranform the MK in such a short time.

Thanks for all the advice guys, I really am so glad we chose to go in Oct, it seems to be a wonderful time at the world. We have been to WDW 2 times as a family, and I've been several other times before that. But this trip we will be doing a lot of firsts. This will be the first time we have stayed over 5 night, the first time we will be there as a family in Oct, the first time we go to MNSSHP, the first time we do a PS at any restaurant, and the first time we do any character dining, as well as the first time we will visit the Universal park and Islands of Adventure, so as you all can see, We Are Very Excited!!! Thanks guys!
