Hello all.
Had to write a speech on a famous person/thing that is important to me, for my speech class. I hope I don't offend anyone this speech is meant to be tongue in cheek. Also is dumbed down because my last speech my classmates said was too complex . Whatever.

I'd like to tell you about my childhood friend. Feels like I've known him forever. I first met him at about 6mos. to a year old, my mother told me I was actually really frightened of him.
It could have been his unusually large head, hands and feet. But despite all that I was drawn to him, possibly because of his high pitched voice which is normally attractive to children of that age. But also because even though his head was abnormally large he had really nice eyes and a friendly face.
Through the years I've always admired and been kind of envious of his brilliant knack for fashion. He had this chameleon like ability to adapt and fit into any situation. He's remade himself more then Madonna has over the years.
But apart from admiring his sense of fashion he's been a great role model for me. Before I met Mickey I am sorry to say I was racsist. I thought that all mice were the same:
- Dirty
- Scavenging
- Naked
- Disease-spreading
- Flea-infested rodents
He made me see that mice could have dignity; mice could be an asset to society. I mean he's even befriended those outside his species:
- Canines
- Fowl
- Bovine
There all the same to him, he treats them as equals. He supports all walks of life even those who have chosen an alternative lifestyle like:
- Chip and Dale
- and Beauty and the Beast
He's been a proponent for the mentally challenged like Goofy and for those with a speech impediment like Donald Duck.
Don't get me wrong he's not perfect. Just like any of us he has his faults. For one thing people have often commented on his androgyny, that he could easily pass for a female mouse, I just think this is part of his charm.
Or that in choosing Minnie Mouse as his life mate that he's being
narcissistic. Hey there is absolutely nothing wrong with self love. Can you blame him??
And sure there was his brief involvement with the occult. But he didn't know that that sorcerer was using black magic. He didn't know any better, he was young and going through a rough time. He needed the money I think we can all relate to that.
Also a lot of people think that he has an OCD or that he's a germaphobe. But he just wears those gloves because he has been suffering through wicked bouts of vetiglio. I don't know if anyone here has noticed those white patches of skin on his face. The gloves are to keep his hands hydrated thats all.
He has good and bad traits. That's why we can all relate to him. One of the best things about him is his accessibility. I don't know of anyone in history that is as well known as Mickey that is available to the general public everyday of the year.
Alot of people are very intimidated when they first meet him, because he's an academy award winner, and he is worth more than the Olsen twins and Oprah put together. But he's just Mickey you don't need to be formal around him. He figures you paid the 49 bucks to see him you don't have to call him Mr. Mouse.
He totally has his priorities straight and is thinking about completely quitting the movie business and concentrating on politics. Even at the age of 76 I totally think he has the potential! And because he's made such a positive impact in my life, he'd get my vote.
