So on Tuesday May 10th there are extra magic morning hours for MK.
Does that mean special ticket people get it at 7:45, resort people at 8 and reg. people at 9 ???

Ok I found the page that talks about the special ticket and it is not offered on Tuesday May 10th probably because there are extra magic morning hours for MK that day.

Hypothetical: If 7DMT were down for technical reasons during EMM and Disney gave 500 or 750 EMMers a FP+, how would that affect 7DMT for the rest of the day?

30 minute FP return lines. It has happened to me several times in DHS with Toy Story Mid way Mania. Tower of terror or RnRC will go down for extended time and they will get TSMM passes. Total chaos ensues.

No way will I pay that much for 3 rides and breakfast. I rather sleep in and have a quick bite to eat in my room. I am on vacation. If I am going to spend stupid amount of money on anything it will be for the Halloween party.

I guess I am a little confused by this. Where is the information describing this event and when the days are. On the WDW site when you look ahead at the schedule, it still says the normal EMH. For example I will be traveling the week of 6/1 and plan on going to MK on 6/3. On the WDW website it says they have the normal EMH from 8a-9a. It also does not say anything about the paid EMH. Am I missing something or does their website just not reflect the changes yet?

Edit: I just looked at the website under the special event tickets and they only have the late night extra tickets listed

The morning event includes breakfast and is located under Dining.

ETA: You have to click "Find a Table" to see the active dates on the calendar.

I wouldn't bother... the regular tickets and fastpass are fine with me. lol

Our family has reconsidered buying this now (had time to think, plan). I called on Thursday and was told all, days were sold out and checked online too...this created a momentary freak out for this over planner. It was $270 for my family. As of right now, May 3 is still available. We have fast passes that day for 7DMT and PP. I am also thinking that adding an extra hour will be too much for my 4 and 6 year old. We have ADRs for BOG lunch and CRT for dinner with a 6:30 A&E.

I freaked on the 2nd day when I couldn't purchase thinking there would be 1,000+ people in fantasy land when we arrived. I will now wait to hear reports on EMM in April and see if I need to reevaluate my family plans. If tickets are still available then maybe these EMM will be less attended. Who knows!?

I couldn't help myself. No, I didn't make a reservation. I ran some numbers. :thumbsup2

Assumptions
  • Want to get all guests to Fantasyland by 7:45 with a 7:30 checkin start; 5 minute walk to FL; 4 guests per party; 60 seconds per party to check in
  • Ride Capacity as previously stated by other posters -- 1400/hour for 7DMT and 700/hour each for PPF and Pooh
  • Guests want to ride 7DMT twice and PPF and Pooh once each during the exclusive window (7:45-9:00) with relatively short waits; they must be in the queue for their final exclusive ride by 9:00, but not necessarily through the queue and ride; guests don't do anything but walk to, wait for, and ride these attractions
  • 3 minutes for each guest to get through the line; 10 guests in a line at any time actually gathering food (everyone beyond that waiting to get to the food)
  • Expect little to no wait for buffet line once all guests have gone through the first time (it is billed as AYCTE, so people will expect to be able to make a return trip without making family members wait for a long time)
  • Disney wants a profit margin on incremental revenue in excess of just an additional PPO breakfast, for which they would be happy with a $35 average charge (so the incremental revenue for the exclusive ride aspect is $30); it takes 5-6 CMs to operate each attraction; benefits loaded average hourly labor rate is $20; the event is held 75 times per year
Optimal Results
  • No more than 450 guests would be able to achieve the above goal if they were queued up for their final of four rides right at 9:00
  • Longest wait for each ride would be 10-15 minutes
  • It would take 10 CM's to get 450 guests checked and back to FL by 7:45 (these CMs are deployed to attractions after checkin)
  • It would take 6 buffet lines to keep the longest wait below 25 minutes and therefore allow for return trips through the buffet for all guests with minimal wait
  • The last guest off an exclusive ride through an attraction will arrive at the buffet around 9:20, have a short wait to get food, and be able to make a return trip through the buffet before it gets closed and actually enjoy their meal time
  • Disney makes about $1.0 million per year in incremental pre-tax income relative to adding a PPO breakfast
Conclusions
  • Optimal results suggest a maximum of 450 guests per event
  • The choke points in addition to ride queues are checkin and buffet lines
  • To ensure smooth operation, the capacity would have to be more limited
  • To work out kinks in the process and to ensure a favorable initial guest experience on which to build (this event and other new events like it), the capacity will probably be more limited yet -- they don't want a bunch of people talking about what a waste of time and money it was, least of all right out of the box
  • I also don't believe Disney wants or expects this event to have a significant negative impact on the experience of other guests
  • My guess (which I fully admit is a guess) is that it will initially be limited to 250 guests, or about 50-60 families, which doesn't seem any more than any other PPO breakfast, and most guests who participate will be eating the first hour after rope drop
  • I expect on that basis there will already be a 10-15 minute standby wait for these attractions at rope drop
I've mentioned before that we have a PPO BOG on 5/17 when they will have EMM. We also have a PPO BOG on another day without EMM (5/22), so I'll try to be observant on both mornings and see if there is much of a difference so I can report back.

Your conclusions make it a little more desirable than I first though, but I'd still pass. It would probably be a good plan for people who think RD is a mob scene, and want to avoid it. We ALWAYS do RD. :lovestruc I currently have PPO BOG for 5/19 and 5/23, so we will miss the early morning event.

It still doesn't register high enough on the value meter for me either, but we have 3 MK days planned during a 10-night stay with 2 PPO BOGs. Someone with only one MK day would probably get some value from it. If it is as limited as I'm guessing, it could be a good experience for them.

I'm conflicted-not for the first time and probably not the last...

Our first day is May 7th-when this was first announced I was agitated/peeved as day 1 must be MK.

Very selfishly-I didn't want my plans upset... I then thought if we were there a week earlier-it would be my birthday and I'd enjoy a relatively empty 3 rides on repeat..

However; I do believe the price is rather bonkers.

It does make some sense for a short stay. Like you, our trips are longer than a week. We like to do 2 days per park, 3 at some. Looks like we may overlap our trips. :-)

So are they doing away with the normal EMH and only doing the EMM on the Tuesdays and Saturdays. As it stands now the schedule still shows normal EMH

No, as of now there has been no indication that EMH for resort guests will be going away.

Well, I screwed up the poll. I voted for not worth the extra money. Then yesterday I mentioned the new option to my DH, who shocked me and said he wanted to do it! So we booked for May 17th. It meant we had to move our MK day from the 16th (which I know is not a recommended day, but the way we tour now it really doesn't matter and we started just planning on going to the park that fits our schedule instead of a recommended park a few years ago), and we aren't going to to a PPO CP anymore and we had to drop my DS6s Pirates League appt. We were able to reschedule our Harmony barbershop appointments. Initially I was kind of irritated to make those changes, but now I guess I'm kind of excited to try something new. We always do the PPO CP, so this will be a new experience and get us on my DHs fav ride (PP) and the mine train, which my DS3 just became tall enough for, pus we all do really enjoy Pooh. So 3 rides without using our FP+ on them, on probably our only MK day this trip. I do really hope we don't have to wait in much of a line. I'm not usually a complainer (well, officially, I complain to my family a lot but don't take it farther!) but if there are fairly long lines and we have trouble riding all of the rides once, let alone a couple of times, I'll be at guest services later in the day letting them know. It's not like it's free, and I do feel that for the price and short time the lines had better be in the 10-15 min range or even less. More makes it not worth it at all. Breakfast is just something they add to make it seem a little more "worth it", IMO, access to the rides with little wait (before 9:00)are what people pay for.

It is ok if you changed your mind. I at first thought oh no way are we paying that much to do that! After thinking about I thought well maybe it would be worth to get in early do those 3 rides and get breakfast. We still are not doing it but if we had extra money we might try it. The breakfast sounds good.
