What do you think about an Annual Pass that is only valid when Staying on Property?

No thanks..saying as person who just bought vacay villa off site.
An insult to us locals.
I don't think the OP means that such a pass would replace any pass that currently exists. If there is no change to you, why is it an insult if it helps someone else?

We can't get FL resident pass since we live in PA but have the vacay place in FL. We would have to get licenses in FL and make that our primary address (which we will eventually do) but right now our 2 DDs (aged 22) live at home and we have DVC so the 4 of us get the DVC AP to use while staying mostly off property and I would like to keep that ability. If the folks who keep saying an AP for use while staying on property do not mean to replace the DVC AP then I am fine with that.

But actually would LOVE them to bring back non expiry tix.

It actually would be almost identical to the park pass purchase incentive we old timers received when we bought DVC. We received length of stay passes free whenever we stayed at DVC using our points until the end of 1999. The could do a similar program for a yearly fee. But remember, DVC doesn't control park tickets. The parks would need to see an advantage to offering that type of ticket. And it would be more complicated now. Back then you didn't need your ticket until you checked in. There was no FP+, park reservations, or any reason to have a ticket prior to arriving on property.

Just read the thread on bringing back Non-expiring tickets.
What are your thoughts on an Annual pass that would only be valid for park admission if you were staying on property?
Seems like it would be great for DVC members, although it could be offered to everyone.
What's in it for Disney? If you're making multiple trips a year, you're going to pay for the regular AP anyway, why would they give you a discount and lose money?

Looking at it from Disney's perspective, it must have been killing them to see locals with AP's walk through the gates for just a few bucks each visit when they are getting on average, what, $80 a head from the out of town crowd? That coupled with the overcrowding problem and the need to make back all the money lost during the pandemic, is why I think they are serious looking at dramatic changes to the AP program.

If anything I think they would make it more restrictive and expensive, not less.

Hey Chuck,
I sure do miss those free passes. Do you recall they offered us a "good deal" on passes after the free ones ran out? That never happened.

That would work for us. We come down from VA when we visit and always stay on site (and in DVC moving forward). Although we figure we’ll get close to 30 days worth of park visits so I doubt it would be “cheaper” than other options currently offered with APs.

No, the big pass deals never happened. But to get the same Gold pass like a FL resident is nice.

I think something like this could exist but think it’s more likely they lean into keeping park pass reservation system and on site benefit is bypassing max simultaneous reservations for ap.

I think a length of stay pass for out of staters who go more than once a year would be nice. You could even make it the same price as a Gold Pass, which has a breakeven point with park hoppers at about 7 days right? If you're going less than 7 days a year, just buy regular tickets. The only change I'd make is no blackout dates, since those folks don't have the same flexibility as locals.

We rarely buy AP because we only go about once a year. Honestly, the ticket deal they just had was a much better deal for us and I really hope to see more of these in the future. Saved us about $800 as a family. I did like the AP merch and discounts though.

Since we make multiple visits to Orlando each year and stay in offsite timeshares as well as DVC, we wouldn’t be interested in one that was good only for DVC stays.

I would like ANY discount on multi-day tickets for DVC members. As it stands now, my family of 4 is about "Disneyed out". We still like to "sample" the parks on our trips, but I can hardly justify spending $2500 on tickets for 5 days. As DVC members, we will still stay at the resorts, but we will probably branch out and visit more things in central Florida, or perhaps simply enjoy what the resorts have to offer. We love Hilton Head and may just use our points there instead and forego the parks altogether.
