...of your Christmas Tree?

We won't be putting one up this year as we will be away
but we always have a beautiful angel on the top of ours.

When I was growing up we always had a Fairy!

A really worn out but much loved angel! She's been with me for so long I can't part with her.

We married 12/19/71 and my sil gave us a little Christmas tree. We had no decorations so we had to go and buy some. We bought a little angel at Weingarten's (any Houstonions remember those stores?) We paid $3.99...lots of money to a starving law student and his new bride. To this day she graces the top of our Christmas tree.

The most special of all ornaments are hung at the top of the tree. Not only is it the most prominent place (to me) but also the safest from little hands.

That's where we hang the angel ornament for our baby angel, the handmade bead ornament my great aunt made the Christmas before she passed away, the ornament from our first Christmas together and the kids first Christmas. As we go down the tree, the ornaments with the kids pictures and kids hand made ornaments are high up as well. All the other ornament, while they are just as special or we wouldn't have them, are hung on the lower branches. It's just that some have more meaning than others.

An angel- actually since it's our first Christmas, we have to go buy our angel, but my family always had an angel when I was growing up.

My mother is always asking me if I want her to buy me a new angel. Her hint that she doesn't approve of my taste.

We have an angel but my kids want me to start putting a star on the top of the tree. They also want colored lights but I like my white lights. They know the presents are for them and 95% of the ornaments are for them but I do have a few things that are special to me(my angel and my white lights)!

This year it will be King Louie. We are having a Jungle Book tree.

I try to do something different every year. I've had a Pez tree, Mt. Dew and Mug can tree, and a Crayola tree.

Last year I had to promise to actually put ornaments on the tree. I think we put an angel on top.

We always had a star when I was growing up but I have a wonderful cocker spaniel angel that I bought several years ago. I bought it in New Orleans. The clerk that I bought it from looked at me like I was crazy when I took it to the register to make the purchase.
